I would say that even pros can use this guitar for writing and performing. Easy to play, sounds great plugged in or not. Well built. Excellent value for the money.

Very very good guitar by yamaha .. but the seller is slow and extremely bad service.. unfortunately received it all broken and damaged...cracked... the box all torn. I have filed the return..

Our friend who has recorded a few albums recommended this guitar as he prefers it to his $3000 guitar, and it has been great. The box came rather damaged but amazingly the guitar was in perfect shape.

Had one of these for a couple years. Nice warm, full sound unplugged; had to watch the bass volume through an amp, kind of normal for an e-acoustic though. Only thing I really didn't care for was the action was quite a bit higher than my FG800 dreadnought. Traded it off for a Seagull because I liked the action much better and the electronics are superior. But also a more expensive guitar so that's to be expected. Still would recommend the FGX800C to just about anyone looking for a reasonably priced e-acoustic. Yamaha builds great instruments!
