I have an older one where the strap button is on the body next to the neck and it does dive. However, I think they’ve moved the button to one of the neck bolts on the neck plate to help with that. I can’t say if that 100% solved the issue though.

China. If not China, then Indonesia. Nothing wrong with that. They make the necks too heavy wherever they are made. That's the spec.

By reverse, does this mean it is left handed?

The "reverse" bodystyle is just the shape, not left handed. When the Firebird and Thunderbird were made back in '63 or whereabouts, the bodystyle was opposite of what it is now, and people didn't like it. So, Gibson "reversed" the body and thus we have the Firebird and Thunderbird we know today. Hope this helps!
