I haven’t made my way to gouache yet. But I easily overheat so I have to have multiple fans running on me (and my watercolor palette) constantly and it was causing my watercolor to skin over. I decided to give this a try. Of course I could use a regular water bottle, but this was inexpensive, the correct size, and I know the base ingredients don’t vary much between watercolor and gouache so I decided to give it a try. It worked great! It isn’t going to fully reconstitute dried paint, but it extended the working time of my watercolor paints and kept the consistency constant and flowing without changing the color or sheen of the paint on the paper. I just lightly spritzed it on the watercolor paints on my palette and only noticed good things. The texture was light as air, it doesn’t have a distinct odor (and I have an extremely sensitive nose) and it didn’t seem greasy/grimy/heavy/viscose. It stretches through a lot of uses. I have had numerous painting sessions and the bottle isn’t even half gone. I took pictures and didn’t notice until editing that the cap was askew. That isn’t a defect, it just didn’t get pushed down all of the way apparently. The bottle seems well made and durable as I have dropped it too many times to count! I will come back and review how the product works with the Himi Jelly Gouache, the product it was formulated to work with, once I get a chance to explore their gouache and see how it works. The pictures in the product description seem to speak for themselves - I was wondering how those tubs of jelly were going to handle being open and this looks like a great solution!
