FUNBRO Folding Scalpel Pocket Knife

Great size. Perfect weight. Super sharp and when the blade gets dull (which has yet to happen to me), it's pretty easy to change out. AND!!!... the pocket knife comes with extra blades. Now I have a few of these and none are difficult to open up, but some are easier to open than others, but i think that can be changed with the little screw. Great quality and tbh, pretty fun to open and close.

LOVE THIS. As a nurse, having a sharp with quick access is great in my home. I used to buy actual scalpels for when I needed the sharpest blade possible; arts and crafts, loose threads, printing and so many others I can't name them all AND it will be a godsend in emergency kits as well as E-Bags used by professionals (except you will need to sterilise it yourself) They open with a flip in two different directions, so there's almost no likelihood of it opening without your intention to do so. Opening up to expose the blade, STILL won't expose the blade, you have to flip it in an entirely different direction to get the blade out.

I like these things so much I bought a second one. For backup. You know. A couple little drawbacks: 1. The stainless used to make them is a little prone to galling, so keep a drop of oil in the hinge at all times. 2. They don't cut very deeply, so it's a good idea to also have a bigger knife for deeper cuts. 3. The blades are fragile because they're so extremely hard; they can fairly readily be broken if you aren't mindful. The good stuff: They accept standard scalpel blades, so you can always have an exquisitely sharp knife on your person. They're very slim, so they don't chew up your leg when they're in your pocket. They have the single best possible locking system; the blade cannot possibly close on your fingers without first breaking stainless steel screws and ... really ... destroying the knife. They'll give their life to protect your fingers. They look totally non-scary to anyone. They don't even weigh much, and they certainly don't cost very much.

High quality, useful, compact, portable, inconspicuous. All around great tool. Does not have an accessible pocket clip or lanyard hole that could be used without hindering the function. The blade is not as sharp as a scalpel should be, so you may want to research purchasing blades elsewhere

I love this knife for two simple reasons... it's cool, unique opening design and it's exactly what it is supposed to be... a folding scaple. No false hopes here. If that's what you want for whatever reason, this is it. And it is virtually impossible for it to accidentally open in your pocket... like 99.9999999 percent impossible. And the same can be said for it accidentally closing while in use... it will not happen. And the handle gives you great hand-feel... you know you are holding it, unlike the single-use plastic scaples. It feels... substantial. Just don't buy it if you are looking for a pocket knife. That, it is not.

I own a Havalon Piranta knife (#60a scalpel) which I used to carry. However, under multiple circumstances I have accidentally opened the knife and even cut my pants when removing it from my pocket (and nearly cut myself), and was looking for a better solution. This knife feels very secure when in the pocket. Some people may find this inconvenient; however, I find that this is required given the sharpness of scalpel blades. The blade is fully protected within the "T" frame of the knife. It and opens and closes with two hands instead of one. It has a very satisfying tactile "click" when moving into the closed position. I love this knife enough that I bought a second unit, and purchased a third as a gift for someone who enjoys knives. I have noticed no machining problems or significant inconsistency between the two knives that I purchased. Of note, this unit appears to be the same as a VIFUNCO folding scalpel knife. The product could be improved by engraving an arrow pointed in the direction of the "sharp" side of the knife.
