## Description

The TLP76MSGB ECO-SURGE 7-Outlet surge protector protects more than just your vital electronics. It's an ideal Green protection solution for your bottom line and the environment. Its energy-saving outlet configuration reduces waste (and costs) by cutting AC power to devices that aren't being used. One NEMA 5-15R outlet is always on for a device that requires constant power, such as a router or DVR. The other six NEMA 5-15R outlets have individual on/off switches, so if you aren't using the device plugged into it, you can power off the outlet to save energy. Another illuminated on/off switch provides one-touch control to all outlets except the one that is always on. Recommended for your home or office, the ECO-SURGE protector Features 1080 joules to defend your components against even the strongest surges and spikes. Because residential power outlets have three wires-hot line (H), neutral (N) and ground (g)-the TLP76MSGB protects all three, covering the two protection modes: full normal mode (H-N) and common mode (N-G/H-G). It also filters out electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI) that can disrupt your electronics and inflict hardware damage or data loss. An integrated circuit breaker protects all outlets and automatically shuts down connected equipment in case of overload. The six-foot AC power cord with NEMA 5-15P plug allows the black surge protector to reach distant outlets. Lifetime limited warranty.

Review: So useful and reliable - My review of Tripp Lite 7 Outlet (6 Individually Controlled) Surge Protector Power Strip... I bought this mainly because each outlet has a switch to turn it on or off. It comes with seven outlets and a main power switch. There is one outlet that has constant power so you can turn off the main but still have power to one outlet. Each outlet switch lights up when its turned on so you know which outlet is active. I use this on my main entertainment system. I don't have any VCRs or CD players. I stream everything. I have a Beelink computer, lamp, TV, digital antenna with powered booster, and my USB charger on this strip. If i want to watch streaming channels I turn on the computer and the TV and the rest will stay off. If i just wanted to watch local digital TV, switch the TV and antenna on, the rest off. If it's at night, I turn on the lamp and the rest of it is off. If i need to charge my phone or any other USB item I use the constant on outlet and no need to turn the strip on. The only thing I don't like is the power plug. It's straight and not the flat angled type so you can't butt your furniture close to the wall. Other than that issue, it's great. I buy Tripp Lite products because of the reliability of the strip. It does not overheat like some strips do and it's internally protected against shorts and spikes from the power line. I highly recommend this product for your use and something to rely on as a high quality product.
Review: Great unit, with a caveat. - For the past eight years, I've had a laptop that I wound up using as a desktop PC. I recently got myself a desktop PC to update and upgrade-the very PC I'm using to write this review now. I had several devices connected to the laptop: beatmaking devices such as an Ableton Push 2, a 32" TV, a wired keyboard, cordless rollerball mouse, a USB recording interface with two monitors, and so on. I had everything connected to a surge protector. When I was done with my work, I'd shut down the laptop and then turn off the surge protector I had all the devices plugged into. I don't think that practice is healthy for my new desktop. It's already told me, actually, in the form of disk checking a couple of times. But I want to keep the desktop on a surge protector for said device's namesake. This surge protector has given me the flexibility to keep my PC happy while still allowing me to power off all other devices. I have my PC's cord connected to this unit's "Always on" jack. As the name implies, this jack is always transmitting electricity, even if you have every single switch on this unit set to "Off". This means I won't keep cutting power completely to the PC. Yet, with a flick of this unit's master switch, I can turn off all of the other devices I have connected to this unit and to my PC. Furthermore, I have one jack free on this unit. I've plugged a USB charger into this jack. Normally, I have the switch to this jack set to "OFF". But if I want to charge my phone or another device that uses 5 volts, I can switch the jack on, charge the device, then switch the jack back off. This has proved to be an even nicer setup than I had with the laptop and my old surge protector! I can leave the few USB ports remaining on my PC open for data use and still have a means to charge a device when needed! I just hope this protector proves reliable when it comes to dealing with surges. While voltage does sag a lot at my house, we do get occasional voltage surges from utilities, and of course we do have a chance of surges anytime the power is knocked out, be it from an electrical storm or another cause like a vehicle hitting a power pole. But as of right now, I'm very pleased with this surge protector and would recommend it to anyone that needs a surge protector with such a feature set. Just remember, the "Always on" jack can never be turned off unless this surge protector is modified or is unplugged!

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What is the clamping voltage? What is the maximum volt level it will allow to pass thru to the load?**
A: Apparently Amazon allows multiple products to be covered under a single Q&A topic. Probably not the best way to handle surge protectors. The product, Tripp Lite 6 Rotatable Outlet Surge Protector/Suppressor model SWIVEL6 has molded into the back the following text, "VPK: 400V (L-N) 400V (L-G) 400V(N-G)" The UL Sticker says "Listed Current Tap also Listed SPD No B 50586158". That is probably what you are looking for voltage level wise.

**Q: Does anyone know if the plug on the end if this unit's cord is right angle? I have to plug into an outlet behind a file cabinet and only have 1 inch.**
A: you need this product instead.

**Q: Can this be plugged into the top electrical outlet with enough room to still use the bottom outlet?**
A: Apparently Amazon allows multiple products to be covered under a single Q&A topic. Probably not the best way to handle surge protectors. The product, Tripp Lite 6 Rotatable Outlet Surge Protector/Suppressor model SWIVEL6 is designed to cover/plug into one complete 15A Duplex receptacle. On the back, it has 3 metal prongs (Line, Neutral & Ground) and one plastic prong designed to plug into the 2nd ground prong on the duplex receptacle.

**Q: If you plug this in to one socket of a a double wall socket will it block the other one?**
A: Yes....the bottom 3 prongs are metal and what draws electricity, the top 3 prongs are plastic and I must mention that they are shorter in length then the metal prongs. I have an gf I outlet that wouldn't hold tight on the top prongs which caused the surge protector to push out of the top outlet. Not sure why the manufacturer wouldn't make the plastic dummy prongs EQUAL in length. I also must mention that it doesn't have the center screw to secure it to the outlet. So if you plug in something with a tight fit, when unplugging the cord it will pull the surge protector from the outlet as well. Not a good option for garage ceiling outlets either due to Not having the center outlet screw mount. I bought 13 more than 1 year ago for my house and they are all still working. I like that the outlets can swivel to the side if you don't want your cords sticking straight out.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect for Video Games
*by T***M on April 14, 2025*

I have a lot of video game consoles, but unfortunately I only have so many outlets. I didn't want to keep unplugging and unplugging consoles while trying to keep track of which cable went to which console. This was a perfect solution for me because now I can individually switch on my TV and a single console when I'm ready to play. I ordered two: They both arrived on the same day, and they both worked great out of the box. It's more expensive than other power strips with individual switches, but Tripp Lite is a trustworthy name brand that I feel safe plugging my electronics into and also feel safe leaving plugged into my wall. It's hefty and feels durable just by holding it, and you can tell that it's not a cheap power strip. The cord is long enough to reach where I need it to go, and the size is just right for my entertainment center. My only minor complaint is the spacing between outlets is still a little tight, especially when using the large AC adapters that power older consoles, but I can live with it. Overall: My electronics (and my house) feels safe, it's way more convenient to use my consoles, and I don't have to worry about my devices sipping power when they're turned off. I'm very happy with it!
