I was searching for a high end matress protector (protect from liquids, etc) but also wanted a full bed heating pad. After reading about how some matress protectors conflict with full bed heating pads I thought this would be perfect. And it is. Top quality matress protector with a full bed heating pad built in. Easy to use controller with long cords (to the outlet and the wired controller to the matress protector). Couldn't be better. When I ordered I noticed a few reviews that had issues with warranty but based on my experience so far as long as you take care of it and follow the washing instructions etc I don't forsee any issues. And yes, it's even machine washable. Not the cheapest product on the market but honestly it's the best and worth spending the $$$ for a more comfortable sleep.

Controller defaults to off when power disconnected. I previously had a Beautyrest blanket that defaulted to on. This allowed connection to a timer to set to preheat the bed. Now I have to remember to turn the blanket on well before I want to go to bed. I only use this to preheat the bed and turn it off as soon as I get in. Would also prefer if the heat went closer to the ends to warm foot area.

I spent a lot of time reading reviews and comparing before I bought this. Hopefully I can help you not make the mistake I made. There are so many bad things about this mattress warmer I hope I can list them all. 1 price; It is really expensive for the poor quality. I admit I did think it would be better because of the price point (over$80 for twinxl). 2 Thickness/ padding; there isn't any buffer. It feels and sounds plasticky because of the waterproofing, you can feel every wire. 3 Heating. the heating is terrible. there are no wires at all down where your feet go so the bed does get warm but the only way to keep your feet from freezing is to sleep in a fetal position. My feet are my biggest concern. I bought this so I didn't have to try to sleep with socks on in the winter, I hate that. Another thing with the feet is there's a huge honking plug there. You have to sleep crooked to keep from hitting the big hard plastic bump on the left and on the right is a huge sewn on directions and warning label which is even more plasticky than the pad itself (and therefore even colder). 4 Plug; Due to the plug being at the bottom the cord then runs all the way back to the hear of the bed to plug in which we had to run under the mattress on top of the box spring to not interfere with under bed storage. 5 The remote; The remote is HUGE its like double the size of a computer mouse and takes up a ton of room. It also does not have a memory so I would choose heat level 3 and 3 hours and every night I had to plus sign up to 3 from 1 and minus sign down to 3 from 8. For over $80 it should remember the setting and I should only need to change it if I change my mind, annoying. I ended up returning this Serta and purchasing the Bwarm mattress pad and it solved every problem. It is not waterproof so I just put my mattress protector over it. It has a thick quilted removable topper over the wires so you can't feel them. it has 2 zones feet and body that can be set separately and it remembers the settings on it's much more appropriately sized remote. The plug is at the head of the bed and on the vertical side where you can't feel it making for far less cord to mess with. I am much happier with the Bwarm all around.

Our puppy chewed up our electric blanket. Yes, it was thankfully turned off at the time. I suggested an electric mattress pad. It did the trick and solved the problem. It is a very good value for the money, and puppy cannot get to it.

Comfortable warm temp all through out. Comes with a timer that always starts with 8 hours and heat settings. Haven't needed to go higher than 1 yet in the fall but time will tell.
