I usually prefer to use coconut oil from the Dominican Republic as body lotion, because I have chronically dry skin, and the Dominican stuff is raw and very pure. Since I haven’t been able to find Dominican oil lately, I discovered this Jamaican oil and thought I would give it a try. Out of the bottle, it does have a smell that isn’t expected with coconut oil, however this was my same experience with Dominican coconut oil. But when I tried the Jamaican oil, it is a luxurious and excellent product, and it gives my skin a good fragrance that my wife and I both like. It has a yellowish color and some small elements contained within it, but that’s because it is raw Caribbean coconut oil. Most coconut oil you get at the store is pure white or clear, because it’s Southeast Asian and extensively filtered. Raw Caribbean coconut oil is going to be yellowish, and it will have a “toasted” smell to it, because it’s produced through cruder, more rudimentary methods than the massive factory-produced Southeast Asian oil. The difference in the scent can also be attributed to the fact that it comes from coconuts that have different genetic lines than the Asian coconuts. So, different production methods, different filtration methods, and different genetic variety, and that’s why some people who buy this product are surprised or turned off by the smell that isn’t what they expect from the highly purified, highly filtered stuff they’re used to. I highly recommend this product. It is excellent coconut oil, containing only one ingredient: Jamaican coconut oil. Shipping took about a week to Alaska.

Lid came broken. Product had brown discoloration in one area. I couldn’t even return it. What a waste of 15.99.

This product is excellent. It has a true coconut smell and taste. I use it to cook with, flavor certain foods also for skin and hair. For hair I would mix it with castor oil and blue seal vaseline. It help with hair growth and dandruff

I use this from head to toe. It smells like Jamaican coconuts. I love the grains that settle in the bottom they're great for exfoliation.
