This Bidirectional Scanner Is Amazing! This is A Must Buy For Any Mechanic Especially For The Price!
I was looking for a more advanced scanner than my current KINGBOLEN K7 and I purchased this one and I must admit that I was blown away at how advanced this scanner is. I have been working on cars since I was 10 years old and have used just about every scan tool you can think of up until this point. The Launch X431 Pro Elite is by far the most advance scan tool that I have ever used if I compare the price with other top scan tools. You can do full vehicle diagnostic, throttle body relearn, active test that allows you to diagnose variable valve solenoids, fuel injectors, fuel trims, speed sensors, ECU coding, vehicle battery programming, ABS bleeding, oil light reset, brake reset, key programming and just about any other system that require testing. It also supports CAN FD and DOIP. You can even relearn transmissions! The 8” touch screen offers clear and concise viewing (Android Interface), and it has 4gb of ram which allows this scan-tool to zip through test while storing any saved data onto a 64gb storage. The built in camera allows you to scan vins quickly and present the data to you without you typing any information. It comes with a free two year update that’s included with the purchase. The outer casing of this machine is extremely robust so you don’t have to worry about damaging the scan-tool in the event you were to drop it. I can go on and on talking about this amazing scan-tool. I am EXTREMELY excited to add this to my repertoire and cannot wait to see what all it can do. With that being said, this scanner is a must have whether you work in a shop or if you a DIY’er who is trying to grow their knowledge on automotive scan tools as the vehicles become more advanced. You cannot go wrong with this machine ESPECIALLY for the price!!! P.S My ONLY Con for this machine is the absence of bluetooth. But, that doesn’t affect or hamper the machine in anyway shape or form. It’s more of a convenience.

Perfect Entry level diagnostic tool for the not every day mechanic at a reasonable price.
Hey everyone, I've been using the LAUNCH X431 PRO Elite in our small two-bay shop for a while now, working side-by-side with a couple other mechanics. If you're looking for a solid mid-level scan tool that gives you a ton of capability without costing a fortune—this is it. Here's why it's perfect for small shops like ours: Great features at a realistic price You get real pro-level stuff like bi-directional control, full-system diagnostics, electronic parking brake service, transmission relearns, live data logging, switch and actuator testing, WiFi connectivity, and even the option to print customer reports (just add the little WiFi printer). There's a built-in camera for quick VIN scanning and remote tech support when you need it—all without breaking the bank. Super reliable for everyday shop work AutoVIN is fast as hell, live data graphing is smooth, and the active tests cover everything we need: injectors, fuel pumps, wheel speed sensors, door locks, cam/crank sensors, VVT solenoids, charging system, fuel trims, you name it. It logs all the data cleanly and can even reset learned fuel tables when you're done. The VAG guided functions are a huge time-saver on European cars—step-by-step instructions walk you through the tricky stuff like steering angle calibration, brake pad replacement, ABS bleeding, throttle body adaptation, gear relearns, sensor resets, and a bunch more. Built tough for real shops It's got an 8-inch touchscreen that's easy to read, runs on Android with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage so it never feels sluggish, and the whole thing is wrapped in thick rubberized plastic. It can handle drops, grease, and the general chaos of a busy (or clumsy) shop. Plus, you get two full years of free software updates. Add-ons when you're ready to grow Down the road, you can hook up a TPMS programmer, oscilloscope, videoscope, multimeter, sensor box, ADAS calibration tools, battery tester, or even the XPROG3 for advanced key programming—all through the same tablet. Hardware flexibility allowing access to Play Store for downloading your favorite apps or apps that aid in diagnosing automotive needs. Bottom line: this tool handles about 95% of what the $5,000+ Snap-On or dealer scanners do, but at a price that actually makes sense for a small shop. If you're fed up with basic code readers that can't finish the job, but you're not ready to spend crazy money, just get the PRO Elite. It's already paid for itself multiple times here. One quick side note—if you ever hit a weird glitch, there's a built-in error reporting feature. I've used it a couple times and usually get a helpful response pretty quick. Highly recommend it—no BS, just a solid tool that gets the job done.

Professional-Grade Diagnostics in Your Hands — X431 PRO Elite Delivers Dealer-Level Power
I recently purchased this Launch scan tool and have been using it non-stop since it arrived! I purchased an entry level launch scan tool previously from Launch, the Elite 2.0, years back and it worked great. After finding the interface and wide compatibility very useful in my shop I decided to spring for the X431 PRO Elite due to its additional storage space, improved interface, large touchscreen and its ability to code/program easily on many different make and models. I have been loving it so far and would highly recommend this to anyone looking to improve their diagnostic and programming capabilities. For reference, I work on a wide variety of makes and models ranging from German cars like Mercedes, BMW and Audi all the way to Italian sports cars like Ferrari, Maserati and Lamborghini’s. It has been useful for every task I have asked of it so far! I spent years working for Mercedes Benz at the dealership and have experience with factory scan tools, the bi-directional capabilities of this scan tool are on par with the manufacturer standard diagnostic equipment. The ability to monitor live data helps tremendously with diagnosing, especially given the advanced nature of today’s vehicles. I highly recommend this tool, and I look forward to purchasing additional accessories from Launch for the tool in the future to test its capabilities further. Another cool aspect of this tool is its ability to do some cool custom programming like coding out weight sensing system sensors that would normally require costly repairs. This is a great feature for technicians who understand the risk of coding out warnings like this but want to get rid of those pesky warnings. I can’t recommend this tool enough and look forward to using it more!

Nice too, great value, very useful, GUI could use refinement
I have found this tool to be quite useful, the build is solid, but the UI is a bit rough around the edges. For starers - its great for reading beyond ODB-II DTCs and accessing vehicle control modules. Additionally the bidirectional features and dealer level functions make this a great value. The user Interface however, could use some work - specifically with the English language and common PC prompts and confirmations, as sometimes you're not entirely clear what your saying yes to or confirming. Everything is in English, but the programmers definitely do not use English as their primary language. Access via AutoAuth - so you can unlock the secure gateway on vehicles with that equipped - is very handy, as you don't need to buy a SGW Bypass cable (the subscription is less than most of the cables) One other knock on this unit, for dealer options (model features) that can be activated/altered/adjusted - there is zero guide or indication for expected setting values. So while access is available, change the values at your own risk, as there is no correlation to what entering a 1 or 5 or A will result in, when the change is not a binary yes/no or enable/disable. It would be nice to have a resource to the data field variables and what the optional programming values represent in terms of actual results. Lastly, it would be nice to default all values to Imperial vs Metric, as opposed to each screen, every use, all the time - really annoying. ITs compatible with many vehicles, and I've used this on a RAM 3500 to do TCM relearn, and a Buick Verano to relearn TPMS after tire rotation. It also appears I can run a manual regen, but I have not yet performed this procedure yet. I have one more vehicle to test it on (Nissan), but I expect it will work just fine.

Professional-Grade Scanner That Competes With the Best (at a Much Better Price)
I’ve used a wide range of diagnostic tools over the years, and I’m genuinely a huge fan of Launch as a brand. The Launch X431 Pro Elite absolutely earns its place among the top-tier OBD2 scanners on the market. In terms of functionality, speed, and coverage, it can hold a candle to Autel’s high-end units at a fraction of the cost. This scanner does almost everything you could realistically need: full system diagnostics, bi-directional controls, active tests, service resets, module access, live data, and guided functions across an enormous range of makes and models. It’s fast, intuitive, and feels very much like a professional shop tool—not a consumer toy. The only reason I even paused when opening the box is that this particular model does not include the wireless Bluetooth dongle. That one detail wasn’t 100% clear to me from the description, so that was a slight disappointment. That said, once you’re actually using the tool, the wired connection is rock-solid and extremely reliable—no dropouts, no lag. Where this scanner truly shines is its breadth of capability. For most manufacturers, it can do nearly everything: diagnostics, adaptations, calibrations, relearns, and more. The only real limitation I’ve run into is very deep coding on Volkswagen, Audi, and Porsche platforms, where factory-level tools or specialized software still have the edge. For everything else? This thing is a powerhouse. Pros: ✔️ Elite-level diagnostics and bi-directional control ✔️ Competes directly with Autel at a lower price point ✔️ Fast, stable, professional interface ✔️ Massive vehicle coverage ✔️ Excellent value for serious DIYers and shops If you’re looking for a true professional diagnostic scanner without paying top-of-the-market prices, the Launch X431 Pro Elite is an outstanding choice. Despite the lack of wireless dongle and limited deep VAG coding, it’s still easily a 5-star tool for capability, value, and real-world performance. Highly recommended for anyone serious about diagnostics.

This would have been my fifth launch Scanner but I had to return it.
Unfortunately I have to give this tool a pass. I have purchased four other launch tools over the years. Most of them have been between 700 and $1500. This tool seemed like a good bargain at the price. My first disappointment when I opened the package was the realization that it does not have a Bluetooth vehicle communication interface meaning you are tethered to the dash by a cord. For the savings of the tablet I was willing to overlook this inconvenience however the tablet didn't work. When connecting to the vehicle and attempting my first scan I was told that the vehicle communication interface I was using did not match the selected one. I was unsure how this was possible because as I stated a moment ago this tool does not have a wireless communication interface it is built into the tablet. I reached out to the seller who informed me that it must've been an Amazon return and they would need to issue me a new software activation. All of this came after sharing multiple pictures and emails describing the problem. I was told I needed to wait a week for the new key to be issued. After a week and a half I got the new key went through the trouble of completely erasing the tablet and activating the software again. The exact same problem occurred. I reached back out to the seller and jumped through the very same hoops once again. At this point I was requested to provide video of me actually performing the steps. I did so I did not hear from the seller for several weeks. I finally decided to just return the tablet and cut my losses. I think I will try an Autel scanner next. As I said I was a very happy launched customer but this product has changed that.

Worth its weight in gold!!
I like the product. It works great and did not experience any issues with it. Needed to be updated, but no problems once connected to wifi. Excellent choice for this price point. Topshelf high quality, rugged for what i need it for. It's fast and easy to operate with the touchscreen, feels robust and very well designed and thought out. Runs fast and scans even faster. Highly recommend.

For the $500 price mark this thing is bad to the bone!
I've used several different diagnostic tools (other launch), Matco scan tools, Autel and Snap on scan tools professionally before this one, and I can honestly say this device is the BEST I've used so far. First, it's considerably faster at auto detecting VINs if it's available for that vehicle and it has a simple to use interface with a lot of features. Our shop purchased an Autel scanner recently that is roughly $1200 ( not sure the model but it’s a pro scanner) I prefer this android OS interface any day of the week. Much easier to navigate and find what module you need. The live data can be graphed and overlapped for a plethora of things, and recorded while doing so, the full fault scan allows you to go straight into the module you want to access with one button, regardless of whether it has faults or not and the TPMS failure to my surprise is quick and easy to use. One noteworthy thing is that every time I've used TPMS so far, it's required internet access even though I've downloaded all of the manufacturers programs for it already, but it's not a hassle generally. Bi directional controls work quickly and easily, and even the oil life reset is almost always useful as it will tell you how to do it if you can't do it via scan tool, which is awesome. The screen is very sharp and clear perhaps 1080p or a little over, I guess), and since it's running Android, you can access the internet like a normal tablet if you need to Google something. It will offer an internet search of the code fault too after scanning to help you get some information of what you’re dealing with. The fact that the scan tool I used to use from Snap-on was almost 5 grand and was slower and didn't have all the features this one has says a lot, and I like Snap on , Autel for a lot of things, but I'm impressed by the simplicity , the features , the speed and intuitiveness of this scanner. I’d choose this one if you’re a Tech or serious Enthusiast looking to save a dollar , scan like a badass, and use all the automotive pro features they don’t want you to have to be able to diagnose on your own! Oscilloscope, Key Programming, Coding, ADAS calibration, Oil Reset, Steering Angle Sensor and Battery reset to name just a FEW! My only complaint is I wish it was blue tooth but this is minor and I believe you can buy it. I may do that!

No ECU programming
They advertise this product is capable of ECU coding when you buy it but you can’t update a small module with this every function is manual procedure that you can even find on the internet not even computerised procedures. I don’t know why they are rubbing people for just fault code scanner which worths only 60$.

Being charged import fees. Update review
Scanner is perfect. Works as should. Not happy that i orderd off amazon.ca. But i ended up having to pay additional charge of 56 dollars for import fees before they would continue shipping my item. No where in decription did it say was xoming from another country and u gotta pay for import fees. Isnt that reason we order from amazon .ca. Not happy with that. But scanner did come new and works good. Update. I was refunded for import fees. I now given them 5 stars as i am happy with everything else. Scanner is flawless. Will buy again in future
