I weigh 240 and I got the xl and it realy big on me I don't wear anything in bed so I don't know about that but they are big on me in day wear good luck I like my shirts they are nice Mitchell

Are these good for working in the sun?

I work outside most of the time. I wear these T shirts to protect me from the sun....I would recommend wearing them in the sun.

Are the shirts fitted or ar they a little loose?

I would say loose. I bought 3x and they are on the big side (but I like big and loose) . There was very little shringage after washing them, basically they remained the same. I have just ordered one size down to see the fit and get an idea of the correct fit. For the price you can't go wrong.
