Sorry, the Newbealer mini iron NB301 does not have automatic shutdown function and needs to be manually turned off.

Can this iron be carried on a carry on on an airplane?

Yes. I had it in my carry on. I was asked to pull electronics bigger than a lap top and since the iron is about the size a new cell phone. I didn't pull it out. It was also about size of hairdrier. It went thru the airport checkin several times. Miami, JFK, Milan, and Rome without issue.

Does this have temperature control?

No, this iron maintains a constant temperature of 302℉ for the panel

Does this iron do well with satin and silk?

Yes, it is effective for removing wrinkles from satin and silk fabrics. However, please be careful when using it on those delicate fabrics. Because this iron maintains a constant temperature of 302℉ for the panel, so avoid staying in one place for too long to prevent any potential damage.
