Very happy with opener and seller/support
I essentially never leave Amazon product reviews, however my experience with the product and the seller was so good, that I felt the need to share. I live in a single family house which has two 2-car garages, each of which has a double wide heavy roll up garage door with glass windows. The original electric garage door openers were Liftmaster 3800 jackshaft units, which have performed reasonably well for over 10 years. However recently they seemed to be struggling, even with the door being properly balanced. I knew it was time to replace the openers. I was comfortable in the Liftmaster product world, so I did research on a replacement. Liftmaster recently re-engineered their jackshaft openers, and now everything up to and including the model 8800 is end of life. The current new technology replacement (released June 2023) is this 98022 unit. This has a much improved DC motor, better logic board and electronics, built in battery backup, a better wall mounted control pad with digital display, and finally gets rid of the terrible problematic cable tension monitor system. I found the best price here from Ace Garage Door (located in Florida), but before I ordered 2 new units, I had some questions. I contacted the seller through the Amazon system, and received immediate, prompt, and thorough replies, even at odd hours and over the weekend. The seller even sent backup documents for me to read. I was more than satisfied, and ordered 2 units. These shipped promptly, however note that because these have battery backups, the units must ship ground from the Amazon fulfillment center (Prime doesn't get you any faster shipping). The units did however arrive as fast as expected and intact. The included instructions and parts were thorough, and as I had familiarity with a prior Liftmaster jack shaft system, deinstallation of the old systems and installation of the new ones was pretty straightforward. The new 98022 systems are way better than the old AC technology and logic. Smooth, fast, quiet operation. The setup process is much better, with easy programming of your cable drum size and door weight, and then setup of upper and lower limits, and automated setting of forces required for your door. The new included wireless LED ceiling light is really bright, and now I don't have any RF interference from the replacement LED bulbs I had in the old ceiling light system. I was able to deinstall my old separate add-on myQ unit, as these openers have built-in Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and myQ. With the myQ app on your smartphone, you get control from anywhere, as well as excellent data and diagnostics. Overall I am very pleased with the openers and with the seller.

Quiet, Elegant Upgrade
Just finished installing, and this garage door opener is working flawlessly - far superior to my previous Genie overhead screw drive opener (and MUCH quieter). Once you've properly balanced your garage door torsion spring coils, the installation and programming are pretty straightforward. HINT: Go to the web sites for more information for installation hints and precautions, and DO go to YouTube for install videos - VERY helpful. NOTE: This type of opener (jack shaft/wall mount) is compatible with torsion spring-operated doors ONLY. BONUS: The unit sits unobtrusively in a corner and very quietly does its thing, freeing up overhead storage/utility space where the old overhead unit used to hang. No more trackscrews, adaptor bars, etc. Final install is simple, clean, elegant, quiet - and programming is a snap as long as you pay attention to the printed and online instructions. (NOTE: Some reviewers noted their units registered a sensor misalignment. I ran into this as well when first setting things up, but let the system cycle through all of the new programming overnight and the "issue" resolved itself. Couldn't be happier with this product's performance thus far.)

Easy installation, quiet operation
Very easy to install. Very quiet when operating. To clear all codes, complete the install as shown in the installation and operators manuals. That includes the remote light. WIFI setup enables smartphone monitoring of whether the door is open or closed, and app enables remote opening and closing of door. Will buy another soon for my south shop door.

Easy to install, quality product
Easy to install, comes with everything needed, light, door button, remote, etc. Liftmaster side opener more than other openers but are great quality. Works well and is extremely quiet. Opens fast and slows just prior to full open or close. Easy to program and works well with MyQ app.

Most unreliable garage door opener ever 😡
This garage door opener is a huge headache. It was actually very easy to install but getting it programmed is a pain. There’s a whole bunch of light sequences that you have to understand to get it to handle the weight of your door correctly. We ended up having a certified LiftMaster technician come out and it worked great for about a week and then it started to throw error codes and would not close. We had the technician come out again and he said this is a common issue and that he would adjust it one more time but we would likely have to go back to LiftMaster and request a new garage door. Guess what we’re starting to have issues again so now I have to battle LiftMaster to get a replacement. This should not be the case for a $500 garage door opener!! Don’t waste your money on this.

Efficiently designed, great opener.
Easy to install, runs quieter than my belt driven opener. I like how it also locks when the door closes. The only shortcoming is the light that installs on the ceiling. It puts out the equivalent of a 75 watt bulb which for a garage space is not a lot. It’s acceptable anyway. Just keep in mind you have to run power to the door where you will move the opener from the ceiling. This has nothing to do with the opener itself. It’s worth the effort as you now have extra ceiling space.

All garage doors should use this style
These openers are so much better than the traditional units that mount to the ceiling. Faster, quieter and I love the WiFi / App connectivity

I’ve got 7 of these openers and they’re the best bang for your buck, they work great on my commercial poly doors - only issue is that if you need to un-program a remote you have to delete ALL remotes and reprogram the ones you want which is so ridiculous… other issue is that there needs to be a better setting for downforce adjustment, you can’t make the door close with enough force to compress the bottom seal on the door if your concrete isn’t totally level.

Got everything installed by a licensed contractor and the sensor are giving issues, theirs no tension detectors so we always have to reset and closed the garage door manually. We keep having the contractor coming back to reset. DO NOT BUY!!!
