I don't think very much about the running lights in the grille of my pickup. The truck is old and only gets driven when I really, REALLY need a truck. So the truth is I don't think a lot about my truck at all. I turn the key, it starts and goes: job done! But then I do have to change the oil at least once a year and to put a point to it, the truck must pass a mandatory state inspection and get a new sticker on its windshield at the same time. So I went out to get the oil changed and the sticker put on and did a brief check over the truck overall. One of the mandatory items on the State's checklist is that ALL lights must be working: if it is on the truck then it's gotta shine! That's when I discovered one of the little running lights was not shining so the first thing I would need to do is to stop at the parts store and pick up another bulb. I had done the same thing over many years before and a bulb would probably be three or four dollars, I figured. Then tomorrow my mechanic would do the oil change and inspection. "A couple of dollars would do the trick," I thought. When I got to the parts store, I found the display with small bulbs on it. And there they were...not ONE bulb which I needed, but a nice brightly colored plastic blister pack of two bulbs.....FOR ELEVEN DOLLARS! I will admit that right at that moment I thought several bad words. I bit my tongue and drove home to check Amazon. FIVE dollars less! I try hard to patronize my local merchants whenever I can. I think it is important to try to support the community in which one lives. BUT I have been retired for a long time and my income can't support paying twice as much for items that I used commonly as I paid for the same item not very long ago. So replacing my burned out bulb with one that arrived a couple of days later from Amazon at ONE HALF the price in the local store represents GREAT VALUE! I'll give it five stars but make no mistake: this Sylvania bulb is no better than almost any other small light bulb in this size would be. But the great value is that at one half the price that you might pay in another retail store, this certainly is the best product at a great price.
