Works as advertised, more than just a soldering mat.
Made well and works as advertised. My only regret is that I didn't buy this sooner. Molded-in organization makes my projects a breeze, allowing me to organize screws and small parts as I disassemble/assemble items and not lose them. Size is just right for my small work bench or the kitchen table. If you do modeling or other small projects, this is worth more than it's reasonable price by a long shot. I rarely do electronics work, so I overlooked this mat for a long time. But it is capable of much more than a simple soldering mat! My only gripe, and it's minor, is it can take a bit of finesse to close the molded-in capped compartments, and if you want them to be individually usable, you will need to use a steel rule and a sharp blade to separate them. Not an issue for anyone with any crafting skills.

Very solid option.
This soldering mat is pretty good and definitely can take some heat. It's fairly large and has great organization. You will need to cut the three storage boxes apart otherwise if one's open they're all open but other than that no real complaints works as good as I thought. The gray can make very small screws hard to find but not impossible if they're actually on the mat.

Must have EDC maintenance work mat
Perfect workmat for all things EDC. From cleaning and sharpening knives, soldering new leds on flashlight PCB’s to small electronic maintenance. Great size. Simple and easy to clean.

Great mat, understand what you're buying
These are great mats - nice and thick, well finished. I like the "larger" size of this one because it has more useful working area for small jobs where I don't want to clear the bench and pull out my larger mat or still-larger ESD mat. The part compartments are a bit larger than some other mats, more useful imho. As long as you understand that 100% silicone mats will NEVER be ESD safe, you should be very happy with these. There are actually some silicone formulations that can be close to static free but they don't seem to be in the consumer market yet for some reason. These can pick up a stronger charge sometimes but it's usually pretty minimal - still enough that if you are working on particularly sensitive components then you should skip this and buy a legit ESD surface and hook it up correctly instead of using this one. Generally typical mitigation methods are enough to make this safe for most things as long as you work smart. Flux and solder spatter don't stick to this so it's easy to keep clean and you're going to have to leave a very very hot iron on it for some time in order to damage the surface but even then it's so minimal as to not matter at all. Acetone and alcohol are no concern either. These are easy to clean if they get linty or gritty from household dust - just run hot water over them and let them air dry, or you can spray them generously and wipe lightly with a decent microfiber cloth. It's a little quizzical that they come packaged in a mylar zip bag over the factory plastic wrap - easy marketing maybe but surely it adds to the cost. Good buy, though, great general purpose mat. If you want silicone and a larger size still, check out some of the kitchen products - there are a couple that are thicker (about 2mm) and do not have the compartments molded in, and they work well without going to a more expensive and much larger electronics bench mat.

Excellent Silicone Soldering Mat for Pocket Knife Disassembly and Maintenance
As someone who regularly disassembles and maintains pocket knives, this silicone soldering mat has been a game changer for my workspace. While it’s designed primarily for soldering, its layout and features make it perfect for detailed work like knife maintenance. Key Features I Love: • Organized Screw Slots: The built-in slots for screws are a lifesaver. Before using this mat, I often lost tiny screws during disassembly. Now, everything stays organized and in place, which reduces the frustration of misplaced parts. • Magnetic Area: The magnetic section is fantastic for keeping bits and small components from rolling away. This is particularly helpful when dealing with delicate parts like knife pivots and screws, ensuring nothing falls off the table or gets lost. • Durable & Heat Resistant: Although I don’t use it for soldering, I can see how the heat resistance would be valuable for those who do. The silicone feels durable, and I’ve found that it holds up well against the tools and oils I use during knife maintenance. • Large Working Space: The size of the mat is more than sufficient for disassembling larger knives, and the compartments help keep everything organized without cluttering my workspace. Overall, this mat has made maintaining my pocket knives much easier and more efficient. Whether you’re working on electronics, knives, or any small project that involves tiny screws and parts, I highly recommend this silicone soldering mat! This review highlights specific details, gives practical use cases, and reflects your personal experience, which should align well with Amazon’s Vine program requirements.

This mat works excellent for its intended use!
I love this mat! It’s very supple and lays out perfectly flat. The embossed compartment are a nice touch. It is heat resistant as stated. I would hesitate to order another one if I needed more.

Pros: - You can literally push a soldering iron tip down on this mat while running at the highest temperature setting and it's perfectly fine (tested at 450 C). - Larger than most other mats you can find, which is great for containing flux splattering not to mention just as a work area in general. - Flux cleans off easily with a little isopropyl alcohol. Cons: - The magnetic strip at the top for screws and such is a joke. It's basically one of those super cheap fridge magnets people hand out as business cards, only worse. But honestly you don't even need that cause it has the little cutouts for organizing screws and that's great for keeping things in place and organized. - It gets statically charged like a balloon. So make sure to discharge it after moving it around and stuff. - The static charge makes dust and stuff stick to it very easily so it can get pretty grimy pretty quick. Especially the little screw cutouts since those are hard to clean.
