Mountain Warehouse Reykjavik Mens Softshell Windproof Jacket

I tried out a bunch soft-shell jackets, this one was one was really nice...except for some critical aspects. Some things of this model are really nice and the materials are on a different level of quality...at least on some colors. I was really impressed with the blue one, very sharp looking. What is not apparent from the photo is that the material for whatever reason is entirely different on the black than the blue etc..it has an odd kind of waffling texture that I didn't care for and is thinner. If you read my review for the blue one you'll see a much more positive impression in the review but it ultimately suffered from same primary issue as this jacket which was very unfortunate because the medium in that one fit like it was made for me....except the sleeves!!!Overall material on the black one is not the thickest, pockets are nice if not a bit thin, zippers are smooth, it was warm and broke the wind well although I did notice some air seepage unlike on the free country's. Despite the thinner material, this jacket would be suitable down to about 35 up to about 65..depending on weather conditions, your personal tolerance etc.By far the biggest issue is that the sizing is all jacked up...I have no idea who these are cut for (midgets, small asian people, very narrow people, aliens?) or what templates they are using but it doesn't seem to matter what size you order, the arm pits are all wrong and will not allow your arms to have full range of motion although the rest of the coat fit properly. I believe it has something to do with the inner waterproof liner/layer as the outer material seems to have plenty of room. I tried both a medium (blue) and a large (black). I would hardly be described as bulky, I have an athletic build of 160-165pnds, 5' 11 and slim. So if you're bulky or overweight..don't even think about ordering this coat as the problem will be magnified 10x.If you're one of the narrow subset of people that this coat may fit properly, It's a pretty good choice but I imagine most people will have the problems I had with this jacket's cut / fitment and that's a really unfortunate shame.

Have previous coat by same company why is coat size smaller yet supposedly its the same side? Very disappointed

I'm 5'11" slimish build and a medium fit me perfectly. Really nice coat. Haven't tested it in the rain yet but I can imagine it will hold up well.
