I just sold my redmi pad and brought this device. Most notisable differences are 1. Screen width 2. Higher color correction on human skin. Was more reddish on redmi pad. 3. Significantly faster performance. 4. Even though old one give me much battery it stil takes a lot time to charge. 5. Very fast touch response and buttor smooth animation. 6. Faster transfer speed. 7. If you have decent ambiant light redmipad screen would reflect much but not this one with good brightness. Also it can reach much lower level of brightness. 8 High performance processor for multitask. Redmi pad works better just as a media device. 9 When navigate to tabs in browser redmipad was refreshing pages again and again not this one Con 1. Expensive almost double the price. 2. Charger still not enough for faster charging. 3. Both tabs official acessories are much expensive. 4. As for the Android eco system. All the apps on general doesn't optimised and you will see so many ads most of the times. 5. I don't know but I had a feeling that redmi pad speakers where louder maybe not much surround effect but more volum. Who should buy? Want much multi task and video. If you want simple media consumption redmi pad has more value for money.

This has to be one of the best android tablets available in Indian market in this price range. Xiaomi/MIUI is notorious for compromising user experience in exchange of cheaper devices but not with this one. This boasts HyperOS and the UX has been smooth so far. There is no bloatware except (Xiaomi cleaner/ security app) I have been using this device for over 10 months and the battery life is excellent. I use it mostly to browse social media and It easily lasts 2-3 days with light/casual use.

Nice build, good speakers and really nice display

Its a great tablet with an excellent display, great chipset, good battery life and an average software experience but a total bang for the buck. You can order without a thought if youre looking for an all-rounder at a budget. UPDATE: The frequent bug on reverting widevine l1 certification to L3 is now permanent. No amount of restarting or factory resetting is working to revert the tab back to L1 Certification. As a result, I'm now stuck with WIDEVINE L3 and netflix stuck at SD quality. Since Xiaomi is not popular for timely updates, I dont have any idea when will I get to watch any liscensed HDR streaming contents.
