I’m really impressed with the Toshiba 55QF5D53DB QLED 4K Smart Fire TV! The picture quality is sharp, vibrant, and offers great contrast, especially when watching 4K content. The smart features work seamlessly with easy access to streaming apps like Netflix and Amazon Prime. The setup was straightforward, and the remote is user-friendly. The sound quality is decent, though I’d recommend a soundbar for a more immersive experience. Overall, it’s an excellent TV for the price with great value for streaming and gaming. Highly recommended!

A fantastic sound and picture. The picture quality is very sharp and the blacks are black compared to the 1080P tv we had before where they had like a white wash over them and the sound is so much better especially the speech which is so clear. I was worried we might need a sound bar after other reviews, but no very happy with the sound. I did get a generic tv stand as our current tv unit is narrow so the feet would have been too far apart and it has set it higher up so it's a really good viewing height and the stand allows you to hide all the leads. In the other reviews there are complaints about the programme guide. I have had no problems at all as it shows all the current channels programme information and when connected to the router and using freeview app it gives so much more choice and show options. My only niggle is the on light as it is very bright and on as a green light in the bottom right hand corner and I haven't found any option yet to dim or switch it off yet. Overall definitely a well deserving 5 stars. It is reliant on having a good Internet speed and a prime account. .

Great TV. I Purchased the Toshiba 55QF5D53DB QLED 4K Smart Fire TV, TRU Picture Engine, Ultra HD, HDR10. Does everything you want. I exclusively use it to view online content. For the most part the TV suffices in this and delivers fantastic quality. The only down side is that the TV clearly has limitations its hardware. Slow loading apps, certain apps and website crashing due to hardware limitations. I'd recommend this TV but if you're after a seamless viewing experience for all your applications and browsing needs I'd recommend to stay away from this one and look for something with a better processor and more RAM that uses firmware that is more supported with modern applications/web applications.

When it works, it’s actually not too bad at all for the price. But, constantly resets when watching anything on the apps, which is infuriating beyond belief. It seems this is a common problem, judging by the guides available online to overcome this. But I’ve had enough of having to turn off and unplug from the mains, clearing caches, factory reseting, checking for updates etc etc. I don’t expect flawless performance forever from modern TV’s, but I’ve owned this for less than 2 years and the last 18 months have been like this, becoming more frequent recently, even when watching Freeview through an aerial.

A stunning TV with crisp 4K picture quality and vibrant colours. The smart Fire TV interface is user-friendly and responsive. Great value for an immersive viewing experience.

Easy to use and set up, can't complain about anything, it doesn't affect my vision. I just love everything about it.

(review left after a week of usage, having bought the item myself!) I bought the set to replace an older Toshiba model. I had upgraded to an Xbox Series X, so wanted to get the best compatiblity from that with the new set. The first thing to say is that out of the box, the colour settings will give you an immediate migraine, so you will want to address that immediately! The problem here is, there is NO MANUAL with the set (55") to show you how to achieve this. You need to hold the "HOME" button on the remote until the menu comes up for the input you are trying to change settings for, and you can go from there to get to your liking. (The remote, by the way - will look very familiar if you have ever owned a Fire Stick!) You will need to repeat this procedure for each active input you have on your set. The next main issue I encountered, was that the set will not by default play ANY of the media I have on my external HDDs, despite there being a native "media player" built in to the set. If you want to remedy this, you can go into the app store and download "VLC PLAYER" which will solve the problem. I know you shouldn't have to do this, but it's a work-around to get things going. Other than that, a fairly pleasant experience using it and watching content etc. The HDR was easy enough to configure, but as this is my 1st HDR set, I have nothing to base this against. As such, I won't go into too much detail about it either - suffice it to say that what I've seen with it was not displeasing! Overall, a solid 4 stars, taking into account the lack of instructions, and the media player issues.
