Extremely easy to set up, I've used it on two different TVs from two different brands and it works just fine. (One was an older LG, and the current is a Samsung smart TV). There's also a fun little function to make the buttons light up (: The remote and buttons themselves feel sort of cheap but as long as you're using the remote as intended, shouldn't be a problem to keep it for a long time.

The issue with these "Universal" remotes is always whether or not it will contain the preprogrammed codes to be able to control your particular device. Well, in my case unfortunately it did not. We have a Roku box and a Optimum cable box. It did not control either, despite the list of thousand so models and manufactures it did control. Now, granted, it seems unrealistic to think that these Universal Remotes can actually control every electronic device ever made since the dawn of the TV era, so to compensate for that, many of them have a LEARNING function whereby if you have the original remote for a particular device that the Universal can't control, you can have the Universal Remote "learn" the codes in the original remote and so the Universal remote can then mimic the original and control what it couldn't with what was pre-programed into it. This one model DOES NOT have a learning feature. So for us, it's hit that RETURN button on the website. Just be aware that there is the possibilty it may not have your device codes preprogrammed in it. What they should do, is, in the description of the product, a list or a link to a list, should be available so you can ssee all the models that are preprogramed in BEFORE you buy so you can determine if it will work with your device.

I ordered this remote a while ago, and I have to say it was very easy to set up. Following the codes for my TV brand was a breeze. So far, I haven't had any problems; all the buttons work perfectly. It's sturdy; it's already survived a few drops and is still indestructible. The battery lasts a long time. I'm very happy with my remote. It's a bit big, but that way I won't lose it.

I was given an old tv that didn’t have a remote, so I ordered this one. Button layout is almost identical to the original (from Google image searches). Programming was simple, since the remote comes with instructions and tons of codes for various TVs. Install two batteries, program your setup for the tv, and see if it works. BOOM, ready to go. I haven’t had to replace the batteries in it, it seems to use minimal energy. Performance is spot on, and all functions work properly. Overall, a great value for the money.

Easy enough to set up. Buttons are really small. Only 13 of the buttons light up so that feature is pretty worthless. Hard to read the buttons. Above the buttons are names of ALL the TV brands. VERY confusing. Would not recommend for older folks or those that don't see well.

This remote worked on an LG TV from 2010, and the Input Button does indeed work properly. That last detail, access to the Input shortcuts, is what your older TV is missing on poorly paired remotes. Therefor I have to rate this thing solid as a device. Batteries were included. Now, pay special attention to what directions you follow for old TVs. Correct directions for me (found in paper instructions and THE MIDDLE of this Amazon page): "Set up by code: (1) Press "Mute +power" buttons together for 3 sec until led light is lit,then release it. (2) Input your 3 digit TV_CODE form code list.If the code is right,the LED light will go off. If the code is wrong, the LED light will still be on. If this happens,try to enter the code again as there may have been an error the first time" INCORRECT directions for me (instructions AT THE TOP of this Amazon page): "(2) Set by code: After pressing the corresponding brand button for 3 seconds, the LED flashes for the third time and then releases. Enter a 3-digit code from the code list, if the code is correct, the LED light will turn off." In fact, doing the latter was causing my remote to desync repeatedly. So, I took 1 Star away for not putting correct instructions up top, and because single-button programming is bound for these de-sync issues. But, its still a solid remote that does what I need it too. Seller was quick to respond, and ultimately this remote works well! I bought a second copy as a Thank You, and I've pasted a glow-in-the-dark sticker /w directions on the back of this one. That missing star went to a good home!
