With Pitch Correction engaged, only the notes in your selected scale and key will be available on your Theremini. Develop your sense of pitch. The built-in tuner uses the LCD to display both the note being played, and to indicate whether the note is being played sharp, flat, or perfectly in tune. The built-in speaker allows Theremini to deliver quality sound on its own. Set it up and play anywhere without the need for an additional amplifier or speakers. The only theremin equipped with a powerful sound engine derived from Moog's Animoog synthesizer. offers 32 presets, each providing a distinctly different tonality, or timbre. Pitch/CV output and USB MIDI can control other synthesizers in your setup. Use the Presets knob to select whether the current Pitch Correction setting is applied to the CV out. Edit Theremini's presets and access advanced settings with the free theremini editor. Playing the Theremini Volume Antenna Pitch Antenna Expressive Volume Vibrato Light, Delicate Movements The Theremini is played by interacting with two electronic antenna using subtle hand gestures. Control the Volume with the horizontal loop antenna. control the Pitch using the vertical rod antenna. Play any note and slowly raise your left hand to raise the volume. Gradually lower your hand toward the antenna to reduce the volume or place your hand very close to mute or activate Auto-mute. Control the pitch or frequency that the Theremini is playing. Place your hand closer to the Pitch antenna to raise/play the highest selected note. Pulling your hand back lowers the pitch frequency. Play with your volume hand about three-quarters of the way up. The casual hand or fingers raise makes the volume swell. Dipping your fingers or wrist slightly makes the volume drop. To perform vibrato, simply give your pitch hand a slight wiggle. The trick is learning to sync the back-and-forth motions in a way that are musically appropriate to what you are playing. Subtle knuckle movement or pinky extension is all that is required to move to the next note. Spreading out your fingers can raise the pitch with a full octave. Imagine tickling butterflies. Review: Good bit of Kit - Arrived well ahead of advertised delivery time A new take on a very old instrument, you still have to know how to play Theremin and I found the pitch correction more of a distraction than a help. The sounds are good you get a Moog synth!. One good feature it shows the note you are playing on it's display very helpful if you are learning. Very easy to set up and get started. I also own an original Moog Theremin there is no comparison with the original sound. but If you want alternative sounds and that pitch readout for learning this is a good buy

**Q: One of the products amazon has listed as often bought with the theremini is a fan heater. is there a reason why this might help a theremini player?**
A: The theremin requires light and small movements to glide between notes, if you shake your movements translate as vibrato/modulation in the sound. I imagine the heater is to minimise unwanted effects from this.

**Q: Do you need speakers or an amplifier to use it?**
A: no it has built in speaker and headphone option, but obviously sounds better if you output to amp or mixer / speakers

**Q: What’s the difference between this and the Moog Therimini Analog?**
A: The Theremini is basically a Moog Synth played the same way as a Theremin, it has a lot of built in sounds you can also edit these sounds I suppose it's the next step in Theremin Development ,  There are aids built in also to make it easier to play.  If you want a real Theremin you need to buy a Moog Etherwave . I have both If you want a better theremin sound I still find the real theramin is the best

Arrived well ahead of advertised delivery time A new take on a very old instrument, you still have to know how to play Theremin and I found the pitch correction more of a distraction than a help. The sounds are good you get a Moog synth!. One good feature it shows the note you are playing on it's display very helpful if you are learning. Very easy to set up and get started. I also own an original Moog Theremin there is no comparison with the original sound. but If you want alternative sounds and that pitch readout for learning this is a good buy
