Rich creamy delight.
I got this simply because I've been reading some British mysteries lately, set in a tea shop. They were always going on about the clotted cream. So I got curious. In this case, curiosity didn't kill the cat; it thrilled the cat. The closest thing to taste that I've every had to this was long ago with "heavy whipping cream". The texture reminds me a bit of whipped butter. That is, soft and easy to spread; unlike normal cold butter and not runny like warmer butter. Oh, and it does _not_ taste like butter to me (I use Kerry Gold Irish butter). I often use a bit of butter in my hot tea. This is even more wonderful. I haven't used it for much of anything else yet (received it yesterday). But it is wonder when mixed with a bit of British honey (not the U.S. stuff). I will agree with some that this is a bit pricey. However, excellence is worth the cost to me.

Damaged Product
I ordered this product in hopes of baking with it, but was sorely disappointed when I received a foul smelling package that had leaked dairy product. One of the jars was half empty and crusted with brown rotten milk. Unfortunately I had to throw both jars away and am not even able to get a refund. I would like to say it was a fluke but after reading multiple similar reviews, I will not be trying again.

Great addition to any pastry; much better than Kool Whip!

Buy elsewhere
This item itself is great - a beautiful and delicious Devon cream. However do not buy through here. Arrived broken and open and it is not returnable or refundable! Beware.

I can almost see the Devon countryside
I've read different reviewers try to describe Devon Cream but it is really just very thick rich cream - not butter just really good cream. Spread this on a warm biscuit/scone and top with jam and you're hooked. It's deeply condensed so it makes it even better. I've even used this on potatoes, eggs, veggies - it isn't sweet so you can combine it with savory things as well.

Arrived clabbered
I ordered this item for a cake I planned to make, so I ordered it on Wedenesdsy and it said it would arrive in two days. It did, however it was completely clabbered and sour. The smell was horrific!! Not returnable so I am left with just a lesson...no cake. I had to put the package inside a plastic baggie in the trash, so no picture.

Nice product if it didn't spoil so quickly
Spoils very fast...arrived HOT here in the packaging, which concerned me. It's supposed to stay refrigerated. That being said, it tastes ok, but I had opened a jar that was in the fridge for only a few days after opening it and it had turned black and moldy. At about ten dollars for a tiny jar...this was disappointing. Nice product if it didn't spoil so quickly. Eat it quick!

If you cant find it locally this will work just fine and be very close to what is had in the UK
Flavor was almost spot on but colour seemed too yellow to me. It came with a separation in the bottle. When shaken it came together. This product is best kept refridgerated but does not require it until opened. The lid came taped on and very well packaged however in the UK there is no plastic seal on the cap its a pop up top kind like US jelly or jam. I could see how that would put someone off but I assure you that is the way this is normally sold. A bit pricey. Ive seen this at an upscale grocer for $9 each.
