We have a number of palm trees on our property and I have to climb them regularly to trim fronds and cut down inflorescences. After falling from a 14' orchard ladder several years ago and taking a trip to the emergency room, I am not as confident on ladders as I used to be. Palms in particular don't offer much grip for the top rung of an extension ladder. I tried different solutions: pool noodles strapped on with various kinds of tape, strips of rubber from old tires, etc. This is by far the best solution that I have found so far. It grips the tree trunk so securely that the only movement in the ladder is the small residual twisting of the ladder itself around its longitudinal axis. Some other reviewers complained that it didn't fit their ladders. Maybe so. It fits the rungs on my Keller extension ladder as if it were factory installed. One small issue, just in case anybody ever reads these reviews. The stabilizer requires drilling a 1/4" hole through the top rung of your ladder and threading a small bolt through the widget. The head of the bolt fits into a hex detent on the side facing the climber, and a lock nut fits on the back side. There is no easy way to tighten the bolt and nut combo. The hexagonal slot is too loose to hold the bolt head firmly, and too tight to accept a socket. When you try to tighten the nut the bolt just spins in place. I eventually just fixed the bolt head in place with superglue and tightened the nut once the CA glue had set.

It was an easy fit on my telescopic ladder. I feel much safer on the ladder against a tree.

As expected

This looks well-made - thick and beefy. Since ladder accessories are usually very high-priced, when I saw the price of this, I snapped it up immediately. One thing to note though is that the expectation is that you will drill holes in the top rung of your ladder. I want to see if I can figure out a way around this. It's not a deal killer, but something to be aware of.

Very durable rubber step and works great I use on a Werner fiberglass ladder that did not have a pole safety device I purchased it so I could get up to my 25 ft 5-in round pole that I mounted a lie I bought from Amazon stays in place definitely make you feel more comfortable so the ladder will not slip

This is definitely what I’ve been needed. It’s made out of a durable material. I use my ladder a lot and before I use this, I have to secure the ladder with the bungee cord but it still slides on poles. Well, this solves the problem. Easy to install and use and no more sliding.

This product is as described, good quality, provides additional stability when using tall ladder and is easy to install. I would recommend this product and would purchase product again.

Makes ladder much safer when resting on a tree or pole. Provides a lot more confidence and a much more stable and secure grip.

Excellent, helped secure the ladder

Not as I expected. The fittings are not great, you have to drill into the ladder and the design does not allow you to bolt it down tight. Clamp fitting would have been so much better. Good idea, very badly designed.

I would have used this to attach to the top rung of my ladder to stabilise it on a telegraph pole. It looks sturdy & well made & is good value for money. This was from Amazon USA and didn't arrive. I called Amazon who refunded it and said if it turns up I can keep it, it never did unfortunately. Other reviews are possitve so I will give it 2 stars.
