Yes they have off gassing the first couple days. Yes they take a few hours to fully heat a space. But...YES they are LOW wattage and a great supplement. I use oil to heat my home. It costs $2k per year if used alone. I added these..size appropriate to almost every room (5 rooms- 2- 600w, 2- 400w and a 250w). I now spend $500-600 in oil and only an extra $60 a month electric. Traditional space heaters were running $150/mo extra. I never worry about overheating my fuses since they are only about 4-5amps each. I end up saving$1200-$1300 per year on heating costs. I only wish I could have found heat guards for the 600w model. I have them on the 400w.
