Easy to Use
Bought this for our trip to Japan. It worked very well and many locals were surprised at how well it translated. A great plus about this translator is that it translates from your language to the other and vice versa. So many translators don't do this and it saved a lot of aggravation when asking questions of other people. It's definitely a good value for your money. Very easy to use. The primary issues we have with it are the following: 1. It does feel very cheap but that's easy enough to get past. 2. The battery life isn't the best. Luckily we carried around an external battery pack for it. 3. Translations aren't nearly as good offline. Good to have a pocket wifi when using it. These issues are nothing in comparison to how well it works overall. I have already begun recommending it to other people who want to travel abroad.

Happy with it so far (updated )
I been testing it out and I will get a real world test when I leave for Malaysia in about 6 days. When connected to wifi it seems to translate very fast. I downloaded a language and testing it with Wifi disconnected and it seem to work really well. The only issue I have is when I connect to bluetooth it wont hold it will connect for a second and then disconnect right away . So I am not sure if the device was designed to connect to a phone and get data (perhaps the manufacture can comment on this ) over all its fast, Small and I have had no problem charging it and it the battery seems to do well I want to update this review with real world testing. Using the offline Indonesian pack. It works great as well as when it connects to wifi. I tested many times and people tell me that the translation is good. So 5 stars for that. Let's talk about 2 things that cause me concern. 1. Pixels have started to die on the screen after 8 days of real use. There are 2 or 3 lines that started small and are now spreading across the screen. 2. Charging it does not charge with all type c cables. In fact the cheaper cables work. I have an official Google pixel cable to charge my phone and it won't work but the cheap Amazon ones do. So make sure you have the right cable. To sum up when I get back in15 days I return because of the defective screen. But I will give them another chance by getting it replaced and just hope it's a bad screen

Piece of CRAP!!!
You are better off using your cell phone translator app than this POS. It has consistantly refused to translate even when the Offloine option is used. Even after updating the OS the error rate was high. I was trying to translate kane and it kept outputting king. Even with very careful pronounciation it would not properly translate cane. Mutlitple times in both Chinese and English it would not properly translate the words. When it does translate at all it is slow an you stand there looking like an idiot while this POS tries to pocess the translation and even after taking a long time it often gets a word or two of the translation wrong. I can not tell you how much I feel that I've wasted my money! I've also had problems getting this POS to charge and even one time it wouldn't charge at all and the battery completely depleted. For no known reason it began charging again but it still gives all the troubles stated before. As soon as I get back to the States I'm going to ask for a refund on this POS!

ANFIER Translator
I live in Japan. I don't speak or read the language. While the Japanese are very gracious and tolerant, I am limited in certain situations because I can't communicate. I had been looking for a SIMPLE easy to operate translator that would work off-line without wi-fi. The product reflects quality and is very simple to use. I already tried it out with my Japanese waitress (who also spoke English) and she was very impressed. There are a few downsides - not enough to not buy the product especially for the price. The unit is supposed to hold 4 downloaded languages. You have to download into until which was very easy but...each attempt to download the complete program it kept dropping out. I felt this was due to the wi-fy connection more than the unit so after 15 attempts the unit successfully downloaded the language. When the unit turns on it is set for 'on-line' and you do have to push a few buttons to get to off-line. Not a big deal. Last thing was the lack of detailed operating instructions. However, by fiddling with it for a while I figured out the features. Once again the quality and ease of operations is great,so I highly recommend this for those who need to carry a translator. By the way...the Apple Phone has a Translator but too many times in the moment, I was unable to operate it to where I could speak to my Japanese person. I do not have that problem with this translator.

Solely relied on past reviews of this product
I bought this about three months ago. The instructions are limited and you really need to figure things out on your own. There is no one to contact. For instance, when using offline, after you have downloaded the languages you want to use, you have to remember to keep the wifi turned off. I got lost in Marakesh and it helped me communicate in Arabic to get out of the souk. That alone was worth buying this translator. I initially bought it to use in March 2024 to spend a lengthy time in Spain. But since purchasing this, I noticed how limited the other languages are. I cannot believe Italian is not listed!!!! I didn't notice that when I bought it. It has a lot of Chinese, Russian, and Korean. No chance of me going to the first two places. The instructions say that they will, at times, upgrade this translator so I'm hoping that Italian will be added. I tried really hard to figure out the Google translator on my phone for using offline before I bought this translator. I tried googling the answer but the responses were always wrong. But once I cracked the code on this translator, I tried it with the Google translator by turning off the wifi and internet and it worked. At least it has Italian on it! It was way too late to return this after I returned from Morocco so I'll just have to make the best of having two translators. But keep in mind that the Google translator is free offline.

Disappointed
Without wifi it is worthless. Even with it, is mediocre. Honestly, stick with Google for free!

Fast internet connection needed
If it works, it works fine, but not for me. My fiber optics internet connection here in the Philippines is to slow at times. Then the spoken words are unrecognized. Speed requirements for the internet should be provided by the manufacturer and observed by the buyer, in particular when using oiutdoors.

It worked well enough! Got me through two weeks in rural Argentina!
I'd tried a half-dozen prior, all kinds of problems, e.g., manufacturer insisted nothing was wrong with two ... when I spoke English, the error message was "You're not speaking Spanish." (same message when I spoke Spanish) I was skeptical of this unit, my last try before leaving. I was way away from a wifi, relying solely on 'off-line'. I was in an area where one in 100 spoke a bit of English, this unit worked. Speak slowly, distinctly, it had an amazing accuracy for off-line. I had to repeat occasionally, but it conveyed the idea. Caution: be very careful with your fingers: my last night in Buenos Aires I accidentally pressed 'wifi', it blew up, would only work if I found one and connected to it. Low drain on battery, away from electricity I boosted it with the chargers in my briefcase every-other-day or so. The best of the half-dozen I tried. It's not perfect, but the absolute best of the half-dozen ... it worked well-enough.
