I thought I reviewed these a while ago, but I was just reminded to review them, so for some reason it apparently was never published. So I'm trying to enter it again. I bought this pair of hose end caps, not for my garden hose, but because they were recommended to solve a different issue that I had. With my elderly mother staying with us, we wanted to rig a washing machine upstairs in our kitchen so she wouldn't have to go to the basement, which has very steep steps. At first we were attaching the washing machine directly to our kitchen tap, but then you couldn't use the sink when the washer was running. So my son built in two outlets coming off the kitchen sink so the water wouldn't be interrupted. But there is also a side door right there, so you can't have the washer hoses in the way which they would be if you left them attached all the time, so we got an extra long hose that can sit on an elevated hook when in use so it flows well, and so the washer could be out of the way and still reach the sink. Unfortunately that left these two outlets with the potential of dripping and damaging the floor or accidentally getting knocked open when disconnected and the washer not in use (there is no shutoff under the sink). So someone suggested to prevent drips capping them off with regular garden hose caps. I measured and wasn't sure it would work, but they do fit and work perfectly. They are very sturdy and high-quality, with good seals, and once tightened firmly, I tested them and had no leaking whatsoever. So they seem to work great for our purposes.

These caps are nicely made and have a hex head for a wrench in case someone with less hand strength is trying to remove. I use them to cap water heater drains after the annual flushing, as the shutoff drain sometimes has a slow drip afterwards.

Ordered yesterday and they were delivered today. They fit the garden hoses perfectly and were easy to install. Just screw them on. I made my own drip irrigation for my garden bed using water hoses with holes drilled in them. I needed something to close off the ends and these were perfect. Cheap but made from quality materials.

These brass hose end caps are basically the kind of backyard hardware you buy once and forget about because they just… work. They feel solid, the washers seal nicely, and they’re great for stopping drips on unused spigots or capping off hoses you’re not using. Super easy, super straightforward. They’re not fancy, but they’re reliable, affordable, and way better than dealing with random leaks. A solid little upgrade for anyone who likes their outdoor setup neat and drip‑free.

Exactly what I expected, complete with extra rubber hose fitting washers. This provides me with relief from a leaking exterior faucet under my carport until I have time to properly address and repair the faucet.

I use one of these on a hot water heater brass drain.

Great caps. I seal off my outdoor taps for extra safety. I had some plastic ones and they eventually broke. These should last "forever".
