Great knife , I use this for filleting Salmon , It pretty good about holding a sharp edge even after cutting through rib bones . I do touch it up before each use with a diamond knife sharpener , just a few light passes and its sharp as I need . It is a little bit more flexible than I had hoped but it is a great knife otherwise for my purposes .

The shape, texture and secure grip of the handle to control the blade is excellent, what i wanted in a fishing filet knife. However the blade is dull out of the box! It did not slice a tomato well. I own other Dahlstrong knives for the kitchen and have been very satisfied. To sharpen or return? It would be a nice addition to the tackle box otherwise. UPDATE: Nancy-J Byers from Dahlstrong reached out to me and provided a replacement. New knife was extremely sharp out of the box! Passed all of the tests. Shaved arm hair well (have the band-aids ready), sliced tomatoes so effortlessly and thin Guy Fierri would say they only had one side. Most importantly the task of fileting a cooler full of fish was done with effortless precision. What a fisherman wants. A welcome addition to any tackle box/bag. Thank you Nancy-J Byers! Awesome knife

Not nearly razor sharp however if youre good at making a good edge it is well worth the purchase. I have honed an edge sharp enough to split a frog hair 4 ways and it holds an edge like a champ too. I have even cut through chicken to spatchcock it and it still has an edge. The only reason tor a 4 star is the fact it wasnt sharp as I like out of the box but still a solid 4.7 rating in my book minus the time to hone the edge which in this case took a while due to the quality of steel which is an excelent sign it is of great quality steel.

Excellent purchase. Lite , strong, premium quality build . No regrets. Shark series my favorite of Dalstrom line . These knives are no junk .

Very sharp

Amazing knife great quality

Extremely well built. Great ergonomics, this is a durable comfortable knife that can be passed on to future generations. Comes with a well made sheath that can be worn on the belt. Packed in a very nice box that protects the knife well. Highly recommend for the serious fisherman that needs a qualty knife.

Looks great was packaged very nice. Unfortunately dull after cleaning 2 pickerel. And continued after resharing only sharp for 2 fish. 25-30 dollar knifes hold edges the same. Would not recommend
