I own several Sony top notch 4K video cameras, and this one I must admit is pretty amazing for the price! I just love it, the size of it, the video quality on 4K, the accessories, the external microphone with it's settings, the handle to hold the camera, the effective remote control, the wifi connection with the phone app. Just amazing camera !! I even like the very light weight of it, yes I know it's due to using a lot of plastic. The video quality is pretty good, the colors are a bit less saturated and thus a bit more washed out than on my Sony 4K video cameras. The steady shot feature seems to work very well. I tried 5K but was not able to tell the difference with the 4K setting. At night and in dim lighting conditions the video resolution is ok but not the greatest, this camera works best in bright light. The night vision infrared option is a nice feature and it works ok, but the range is limited by the not-so-strong IR lamp. All in all, a feature packed nice lightweight & compact 4K video camera ! Intended for YouTube, Video Conference, Vlogging, Web Cam, Podcasting, family vacations and more. It's small and light weight and performs exactly as expected. Features include IR night vision mode in black & white, 16 X digital zoom, anti shake, time lapse and several more features and functions. The zoom function is nice though it moves quickly, so any artistic "slow close-up's" are not going to be possible. IR Night Vision has great range with the red led but can become grainy when the zoom is pushed to it's limits. It's very price sensetive for the technology and the build reflects what you would expected for a camera in this price range. (Consider that a professional 5K Video camera will run you $17,000 or more.) This works just fine for my needs.

UPDATE: At least the company contacted me and apologized, wanting to make sure I got a full refund. Unlike many merchants on Amazon they do seem to be responsive! I really wanted this to work out, since it was a great price and had some good reviews, but it also had some bad reviews. The first inclining that something was not right was the instruction manual covered how to install the battery, but that's about it. The hood setup looks cool, but was confusing to setup and there were no instructions on it. There was one gear-like piece that I could not figure out how it went or what it did, so I just left it off. However the fatal flaw was that it seemed to have a problem with the memory card. It indicated that it successfully recorded some test videos, but then when I went to view the memory card it was totally blank (yes I formatted the card per the instructions). I tired 3 more cards and the same thing happened in 2 of them, with the third one getting a memory card error. (The card works just fine everywhere else). There were some other funky things about it as well, such as the enclosed lens cover would not work with the lens hood on. The last thing I would want to be doing is spending time removing the hood just so I could place the lens cover on. Also, assuming you are using the handle grip with your right hand, its almost impossible to reach the record/stop button on the far right. Someone did not think this through.

The Bad: Feels cheap. One of the batteries that arrived with it is DOA. Battery time is fairly short, but charge time is quick. Recorded colors are a little weird, and audio quality is VERY tinny, no matter what microphone I use with it, even the one that comes with it. But audio and video are things that are able to be corrected in edit and post-production. The Good: Certainly not as good as the $2500 Sony I have, but I won't be as sad if this one fell out the window on the interstate or if it got dropped in the ocean for a $100 camera that came with all these accessories. I'd get another. Good backup camera, or good for when you're in an inhospitable enviroment for running a camera. Overall, a decent camera for the money, it gets the job done for a professional blogger/youtuber.

We got this as a next step up from an iPhone to shoot short YouTube videos at a little higher res and we're satisfied with it for that purpose. We haven't really used the zoom feature as we just want to be able to have enough res to zoom in in post, so we simply shoot at top resolution and then scale up while editing. Obviously this is a "starter camera" rather than a professional one, but I'm impressed with how good the color management is for the price point. I'm doing much less work on color grading/correction on indoor shots than I did with iPhone footage even though I'm using the exact same light. The image is less "flat" than iPhone footage. And this is out of the box; there are lots of settings you can fiddle with to optimize your results. Because it's MP4, file sizes are still manageable so I can export a 10-minute piece of content, with effects, in about 5 minutes, with no need for proxies. Premiere often wants proxies, but it handled these files just fine. Another reviewer here complained that "you have to buy a memory card to use this camera" but I think they must be unfamiliar with digital cameras, because they *all* require a memory card, that's just basic. We got a 256GB one quite cheaply and after several hours of shooting had only filled up a fraction of the card with the MP4 format files this camera creates, so that doesn't add a significant cost to ownership. All in all I'd say this is our "next step" camera than our lifetime one, but that's fine. For a very low cost, we can expand our content without embarrassment and build our skill set to be ready for more advanced shooting at the next equipment upgrade. We're glad we got it and will make the most of its capabilities.

I was looking for an upgrade for my aged Sony Handycam and I was just wanting a budget alternative so I tried out this model. Unfortunately, I found the video quality to be worse than my 12 year old Sony. My primary purpose was to get a slight upgrade in resolution for DIY YouTube videos I create and in no way was I actually expecting anything like 4K or above from this camera, but it was just too grainy to work for me. Will it work for certain situations? Of course! It is easy to use, lightweight and comes with some neat gadgets on it. But if you are wanting more clarity in your videos, this is probably not your answer. I’m definitely going to have to triple or quadruple my budget to get what I’m wanting, quality like always, doesn’t come cheap.

The picture is sometime blurry, The charge is weat

This was the best option on video camera because the price was a great deal and even best buy said that could not compete with the prices on amazon for this particular type camera so I had to mention this and add a good review.

Aunque ya sabía que no era una cámara de una capacidad muy grande, se quedan cortos en explicar la vaja calidad con la que funciona, es casi una cámara de teléfono viejo y es hasta engañoso en ciertos aspectos como omiten ciertas cosas de la cámara

No te desgastes es barato pero malísimo, baja calidad o bajísima, malos materiales, un dolor de cabeza, tuve que devolverlo
