TOPAI 12V COB LED Strip 3000K Warm White 16.4ft Dotless IP65 Waterproof

I ordered the Topai 12V, COB LED warm white, 3000K light strip for some mood lighting in my bathroom. I found the quality of the lighting very good. For those that want to know, the total wattage output of this strip is about 55 watts or so, when using the entire strip. But, it can be cut, and the wattage will lower proportionately to the size of your cut strip. This is important if you want to install a dimmer with it. You must purchase a separate 12V universal triac driver/dimmer (20 watts) and hook it up using 12V wire in order to dim the lights. I purchased the suggested Leviton dimmer to install on the wall, and it works very well from low to high brightness. I would say the 3000K warm white color is spot on...it's not too yellow, and not "office" white color either. When the dimmer is all the way up, the lighting emits a very bright lumen, and when it's dimmed, of course, it's softer and sets more of a mood. It has a rating of IP65, which makes it waterproof, and the light itself is covered with a silicone membrane....but still, if you will be installing near water, please make sure you have it attached to a GFCI outlet of some sort...even though this is low voltage, better to be safe. The CRI (color rendering index) of above 90 is excellent, which means it will portray colors more accurately than with a lower CRI. Most experts will say anything 90 and over is great...so those expensive colored blue tiles will look blue, and not green or gray! I believe the total footage of this strip is about 16.4 feet, and can be cut approximately every inch. I thought it was reasonably priced compared to some others, and I think the manufacturers description accurately depicts the quality of the light. It arrived quickly in good shape. I am not an electrician, and I did have my electrician help me with this project, but I feel it was straight forward enough for any experienced DIYer to install this. It can get a bit trickier if you want to use a dimmer, but just buy the driver with the proper specs, and it should work well together. Remember to adjust the wattage needs to the size strip you cut...and make sure the driver's total wattage is not too high, and not too low for the output of your particular sized light strip. At first, I purchased a 60 watt driver, (for about a 5 inch cut strip) which was too high and caused problems with the dimmer. I then purchased a more "matched" driver with about only 20 watts which worked better because the cut strip now had lower wattage then its original state of 16.4 feet. I feel the effort was worth it and highly recommend.

I purchased this to replace the light strip on our RV awning. I went with the Warm White to soften the glow over the daylight, very bright strip that was there. Easy to install with the adhesive backing. Pay close attention to the type of connector you are using to connect to this light strip. I had to make a change.

This is a good quality light strip that did a fantastic job lighting my wifes closet. The COB feature is great and exactly what I was looking for to provide evenly distributed lighting without the annoying LED "dots" often found in sub-standard LED light strips. This 16ft strip of lights came on a reel with a standard male (looks female but its actually the male) 12v barrel connector. The end of the strip has two wires to allow continuation of more lighting which is a nice feature. If you are not going to use more lighting, it's best to tape these wires away from each other to avoid shorting the power supply. The reason for the 4 stars is because it was not obvious up-front that the light reel did NOT come with a power source. Before I wrote this review, I checked and they do state that a 12vdc power supply is not included, however I had to dig for that information as it was not displayed on the main product page. To be clear: This set requires a 12vdc @3a power supply which should be beefy. If your supply looks like a "wall wart" and not like a laptop brick charger, then it is unlikely going to power these lights long term. 12vdc @3a is stout so be sure you have a good quality power supply. The packaging was also quite basic. The lights were wound on a reel which was placed in an electrostatic ziploc bag which was then labeled and shipped. No instructions, no brand cards, no power supply...I am OK with that because if I were to purchase 10x or more of these, I would want the least amount of packaging possible. Since these lights require their own power supply, the target audience is more DIY and DIY typically toss instructions anyhow! The lack of everything but the product makes me think "oh they forgot the power supply?!" when in fact, they did not. It would have been nice to have a note or some sort of acknowledgement of this. I would have purchased these lights even if the top line said "Power Supply Not Included". There is no need to bury that information. How many people returned these thinking they were shipped incomplete? This is on the vendor for that sort of waste. Because of that, I took away a star. Otherwise...Look at the brightness! These are very bright, no-nonsense warm lit rope lighting. Oh and the adhesive backing is STICKY! I installed a switched outlet in my wifes closet and plugged the 12vdc @5a power supply into the plug. Flip the switch and boom. Super bright, even, warm lighting! This is a good purchase. Just know the packaging is lightweight and you need your own stout 12vdc power supply

Bright. Warm white chosen for our RV. Continous lighting has no bright spots. Love them.

Installed this light strip in a cupola, very difficult spot to access. Worked perfectly for five months (lit on five hours per day). After five months, got very dim. Thinking (hoping) maybe I had a bad transformer, I replaced the transformer unit with no change. Now I have a major job replacing a strip that should have lasted years. Absolutely cannot recommend.

Awesome light to replace awful light in RV awnings. Color and light density so much better than stock Lippert light strips. It was a bit of a challenger to get tape backing off without pulling tape off light.

Works great for my DIY under cabinet lighting project, based on YouTube videos. With the COB, I don't feel like there's a need for a diffuser, just stick it on and it's ready to go. It is dimmable, but it's not a big range, and that's probably my power supply and dimmer switch's problem. I did find that soldering the wires worked better as I was getting flickering with with a clip type product, but again this was my first time and it could have been user error. Soldering was not easy, but once I got it working, I have fantastic under cabinet lights. The color is as warm as I've seen LEDs, and I have plenty of strip left over to do more projects. Definitely worth it.
