Columbia Sportswear Women's Reel Beauty II Maxi Dress

this is a very nice dress. i'm glad I read reviews and ordered a size small. size chart would have had me buy a med for bust size, but small fits perfect ( i'm 36c, 120#). can wear without bra as seam is in perfect location under bust to offer support. nice material, can wear all year round with tights under it in winter. deducted 1 star for logo imprinted mid back, tacky. i'm 5' 4 1/2" and length just at my ankle bones, does not drag on floor. washed and dried it already and came out great, cold water. low temp to dry.

I love Columbia products. I thought this would be great for travel. It runs a bit smaller than the medium size I ordered. Yes it is stretchy, but clings in wrong places. Also I don't know why, but a logo symbol, small about 1" inverted triangle in white is smack in middle of the back between shoulders. it shows up. Takes away from the dressy look I wanted. Fortunately I wore it with a 3/4 sleeve sweater which covered the logo and the clingy area around waist and tummy. I don't think getting a Large would work for me as I am petite and the neckline might be lower than I would be comfortable with. So as long as I wear it with a sweater or blouse it would be nice. It is very comfy with the knit material.

I find the material of this dress to be seemingly sturdy, though time will tell whether my initial assessment is correct or not. However, as a short person, the length of this dress is too long. It'd be nice if it came in a petite length. The other issue that I have with it is that it takes a long time to dry on low heat. After 40 minutes on low heat, it's still damp. On the other hand, it has less rayon content than do other maxis on the market and it's nice that it can be thrown in the dryer. The price is pretty steep too.

I needed something quick to wear for a semi-formal evening that I didn't have to do any alterations to, and this worked. Amazingly the length was perfect as I am short (5'3") and usually have to hem everything. Where it didn't fit was in the armholes. Would need to take a couple of darts there to keep it from pouching out. I solved the armhole problem by wearing a glittery sleeveless evening top I have over the dress. Covered the top of the dress perfectly. Voila, fancy dress outfit.

I like the fit of this dress except the armholes. They are so big they flare out! I'm going to have to take them in so I can wear the dress without my bra being visible. The material is thick but not too hot, so it's great for summer.

I got a medium size, which was too large at the armhole area (I'm a 34D). I think it runs big, because the length was long too. I seldom find dresses that goes slightly beyond my ankle (I'm 1.7m tall).Nevertheless, I love the soft material and the beautiful colors. Feels comfortable.I have already ordered another Columbia dress in small, and if it fits, I'll come back and other this maxi again in small with orange strips.

Has potential, but the shoulder straps were way too long for it to fit correctly on me. Could DEFINITELY do WITHOUT the "Bass fishing" logo on teh back. Its subtle, but kills the look of an otherwise elegant simple maxi.

This is my second one. I latterly wore out my first one that I bough at Bass, and was so happy to see Amazon had it. I wear this all the time in the summer. I do no find that the arm holes are too big as some describe. I would say if you are a woman that worries about the size of your tricep being "giggly" you may not like the cute of the arms. You also can not wear super thick banded bras due to the cut of the arms. If these two things are not an issue with you, and you love a super comfy, breaths nice, complimenting to your curves, Maxi dress...then this is the one for you. I dress it up with a wide belt and a shawl/cardigan, dress down with just a pair of flats. It's my go to warm weather outfit!!!
