Excellent product works very well considering the technology was from the 1980’s, the USB PORT makes the device more adaptable for today’s modern machines, Easy to use however the supplied microphone works well but can produce feedback if too close the the cassette player while recording, I have used this device away from my studio recording vocals and on location filming, very handy in producing that cassette tape sounds during production and can add a vagrancy effect. The microphone provides stable recording sounds, however I would recommend a more substantial microphone during professional working use. The USB PORT provides additional compatibility's in recording and transferring of DATA FILES, the overall appearance is pleasing to the eyes with smooth contours especially while handling, the key operations are smooth with a positive lock into position and release, due to static build up on the record and playback head, I would recommend buying a Tape Head Demagnetiser “ PROBE TYPE“ and not the cassette tape version, also to clean the ferromagnetic deposits away from the head I use surgical spirit and a soft cloth, just dab the cloth with a small amount of the solution and wipe over gently avoiding excessive solution entering the tape head gate, the solution will vaporise in five minutes.

This cassette recorder is a bundle of junk it never worked properly since 6 months ago or more! All I’m getting is a constant noise! I want Amazon to give me a refund or replace it with a different cassette recorder ( preferably one that works?). Watch this space for future developments!!!

I have bought several old cassette recorders similar to the ones I had in the late 70’s None have worked very well I wanted one just for nostalgia I’ve been looking at this item for a few weeks and was dubious as it had poor reviews When the price reduced to £29 I decided to purchase After all I could send it back if unhappy It arrived and very well packed I opened and plugged in the USB cable and inserted a cassette I was instantly impressed with the sound quality I have a 5k hi fi system so I know about sound quality As others say recording through the built in mic is very quiet but ok I’m reliving my youth and I’m very impressed Technology moves on and this is the first new cassette machine I’ve purchased in 35 years My old home recording sound brilliant Very pleased and can highly recommend

The good: Amazing quality for playback & digital recording. Very portable, plenty of accessories included for all use-cases. The bad: speaker doesnt appear to have any vibration isolation so from the internal speaker you will get vibration of the case, vibration of what it's resting on, and more noticeably vibration of the battery compartment lid. Nothing some duct tape cant remedy. The ugly: the power cable inlet is right next to the headphone socket which potentially leads to unwanted noise.

Got this, very pleased with its functions and accessories, plays tapes and USB sticks well but... The recording on both the internal and lav mic isn't consistent, first recording was very quiet so I unplugged the mic and tried again - both mics were good so I did a final test recording only to find it was quiet again on both mics so it had to go back. I might have just got a bad one but will go for another model just in case. p.s. Having looked for 'another' model it seems that for this format of recorder you can only get this type under different brand names, a bit like living in the old Soviet bloc where you could only get one brand and that was it, not exactly a great choice unless you want a recorder with a radio or radio and CD player which I don't want.

In my experience the worst reviews are no at all true. But it's a little disappointing for two reasons. Here is my overall experience so far: 1) The price needs to be watched. I bought it at a higher level than the price has been since and there is an additional voucher today. It is a pity and I would have waited had I realised how the pricing seems to work. 2) There was an initial issue and I couldn't get it to record and couldn't try again until tonight where it has recorded by the look of it, but it won't play the on the more recent Media player. That is a disappointment. 3) When I asked about the problem I was told (as confirmed by at least one review) that I could download a different media player, but I am sure no specific player was mentioned and an specific option would be helpful 4) The second disappointment has been the volume level on the recording. Much quieter than I expected and a surprise because the actual play back has generally been excellent and as good if not better than the basic players I used for many years. Perhaps a different media player will work better - I will have to see, but as a player it is fine and it does record but the volume is a disappointment - I can hear it, but my wife will struggle with that. A shame TBH Oh, and unless there was something wrong with the 4 new Duracells the battery life is not long. I'll see what happens with another batch, but although the supplied USB wire is OK and can naturally be used with a USB to socket adaptor, I was hoping to use batteries for some of the copying
