I've tried several different electric knives that claim to cut bread. HA - they all mangled bread. I didn't have high hopes for this one, but the reviews were good so I ordered it. FINALLY a knife that works on bread and does a fabulous job. I cook a lot of sourdough and this knife is so good I can cut thin slices. Several reviews commented on it was difficult to figure out which blade was for bread. I agree with them. Even zooming in on the tiny photo in the instructions was not good. I've put a photo of the two blades and labelled them meat and bread. Here's the BIG clue --- the bread knife is wider at the base. Now that you know that it's easy. Four stars (not five) because inserting the blade into the handle is not as easy as other electric knives. The handle where the blades are inserted could be better. EDIT returning and why.... After cutting a full size loaf using a slicer guide I've decided to return this. The vibration in the handle is tough on my hand after a full loaf of bread. Using a slice guide the blade on this is barely long enough to make it to the other side of the slice guide.

My husband was so excited that this set includes bread knives - he thought I just bought an electric meat knife! Everything feels solid and sharp (very sharp, actually), so just a heads-up to be careful when sliding the blades into the holder. We've used it a few times already (mostly for slicing bread!) but also for a tenderloin and it worked great! Not sure why we waited so long to get an electric knife - makes SUCH a difference.

Very difficult and time consuming just to insert blades. Faux wood handle is flimsy and small piece between blade broke off after only 2-3 uses. Poor quality

Quality does not seem to be at a par with the old one that we had for 20+ years. That being said, they do function well. I just doubt that they'll hold up.

Love my new electric knife. It helps me cut frozen meat or chicken. Bones works really easy and soft.
