Product description Sadolin Superdec Satin Opaque Wood Protection Self priming and undercoating 10 years durable protection Flexible finish for exterior wood DESCRIPTION Sadolin Superdec Satin is a water-borne, highly durable opaque finish for wood, weathered plastic, steel, cladding, concrete, masonry and exterior joinery. Sadolin Superdec erodes naturally by weathering, thus ensuring the coating remains flexible and resists cracking, peeling and flaking. Sadolin Superdec Satin can be applied to new and previously painted or stained surfaces, and is ideal for use where a complete change of colour is required or where the existing surface has become weathered and uneven in appearance. On very resinous timber, to minimise extractive discolouration of the coating (particularly with white and pale shades of Superdec) a blocking primer should be used. Review: Absolutely love this paint / stain - Reconditioning a very neglected 1950s pine window, I sanded back to clean wood, wiped with methylated spirits, and put about 8 coats of this on, one coat per day. It seems to be super flexible yet tough at the same time. After it's set I tried rubbing with sandpaper, and the sandpaper was really struggling to "bite" the paint. Tip: if the woodwork needs some repairs, try to avoid applying a quick "temporary" coat of this stuff. I thought that would be a sensible idea, to keep the window dry, but the problem is when you forcibly remove a small area it tends to peel and stretch at the edges of where you're not removing it. It really wants to stay on! I tried doing a quicker job painting over an old door without going back to bare wood. This door is about 200 years old and so probably had various types of paint on it through the years. The ancient layers looked quite good but the modern stuff was brittle and flaking. Gave it a quick scrape and sand, then a liberal application of this stuff. It seems to stick well to the 1990s paint, but the trouble is that the 1990s paint itself wasn't stuck so well to the layers below... and I ended up with big rubbery bubbles inflating under the new paint! After scraping loads of this mess off it's been much better on the second attempt. The paint smells much less offensive than some other products. In summary it seems a great product for a long-lasting job, but worked much better direct to wood than on brittle flaky old paint. If it's the same as the Sadolin "Woodshield" I used 7 years ago, that is still intact, and I'm amazed at how the thick pine resin from the knots has been oozing through the "pores" of the Woodshield while the stain itself remains attached to the door! Review: Hard wearing, Highly Recommend - Brilliant, lovely finish, been buying on & off for years, hard wearing & easy application, whether using for the first time or touching up, often only requiring one coat Did blister last time when painting a door, but tbf that was more due to painting on a very hot day in direct sunlight Would high recommend

Sadolin superdec opaque satin wood paint in black is a good product. Easily painted on by brush and good coverage. The decorating shop had this delivered well within the timeframe given. At ยฃ17.95 a for a 1 litre tin it was the best price I could find. Reasonably well packaged without going over the top.

Easy to use
Love this paint. Coverage great. Only downside is that I painted cabinet and placing ornaments on it leaves a mark when you pick up to dust.

Covers in one coat so easy to apply.
It covers brilliantly in one coat, dries quickly and looks amazing. I normally do not like painting especially garden furniture but using this paint it was a pleasure. I recommend this product and would definitely use it again.

Highly recommended.
Excellent product that I have been using for years. Gives a very durable finish on wood, steel, concrete, brick that will last for years. Easy to wash out brushes in this water based paint. If I could give it 10 stars then I would.
