Nuwave Oxypure Zero E500 Air Purifier with Washable & Reusable Filters

I ordered this air purifier for my bedroom. In auto mode you can barely hear it running. It has lights on it which indicate by their color, the state of the air quality. Fortunately these can be turned off for "sleep mode". When I have used any type of spray in the bathroom, even though the door has been closed, this unit has detected a change in the air quality and has kicked the fan into a higher speed and the lights on the unit have changed color indicating what size particulates it senses in the air. So far I'm impressed with this unit. I also like that all of the filters are washable. That is a big savings right there.

This unit works really well. I set up the time to run, eco, fan speed and every morning go just press the power button and everything is a go. I haven’t had to clean the filters yet but the set up was easy. I used the oven the other night and apparently there was a spill and the New wave adjusted the fan to quickly bring air back to clean. Very impressed and do recommend.

I am writing this review as a warning to potential customers. I purchased this unit for $264, and unfortunately, it has been a deeply frustrating experience. ​Over the course of my ownership, I have had to replace this unit three separate times. In every single instance, the filter stopped working within just one month of use. It is clear that there is a systemic manufacturing defect with this product, as the same failure occurred repeatedly. ​Now that the unit is technically outside of the warranty window, the company refuses to provide a solution, despite the fact that I have essentially paid $264 for a product that has never functioned as intended. They have failed to stand behind their product or acknowledge the clear pattern of defects I have experienced. ​I am an extremely unhappy customer. I have lost $300 and am left with a useless device. I expected much better quality and customer service, and I cannot recommend this product to anyone.

Purchased 2 in 2024. Coincidently, in 2026, both machines starting having issues @ the same time. After emailing them about the problem they sent 2 labels to send them back. Within 2 weeks thay arrived and are both working very well. We can tell the difference throughout the house with these units working.

Came in good condition and on time. Unpacked and starting to use, so far so good. Edit, started on auto mode and saw no difference so I turned fan up and left the room. A bit later I heard a noise it sounded like a washing machine that was off balance, but it was the Nuwave. thought it was going to come apart so I shut down and called Amazon and returned. I had been looking at these units for months and finally pulled the trigger and purchased, so disappointed. Not sure I am going to reorder.

My doc recommended I get an air purifier to help me with severe allergies that’s been kicking my butt the last couple months keeping me coughing all night long. So I chose this one. Honestly when I first got it and set it up (super easy to set up), I wasn’t sure if it’s truly working. I mean my air seemed clean. It went from red to green in seconds in my room making me think I didn’t really need this but I kept it on auto and left it on anyways. Since i only bought one to see if it works good before buying two, during the day I’ll put it in my living room near my kitchen & noticed that it truly does work great with odors caused by cooking and even smoke! But here’s what really sold me… I’m having tiles ripped out and new ones installed right now! Omg the amount of dust that causes is unreal! Knowing it can also reck havoc on my a/c system, i hung plastic sheets to block areas off in the house to prevent the dust getting into my return vents. And use heavy duty fans with the doors open to the outside to basically help “vacuum seal and suck the dust outside” of the rooms while they’re breaking out the old tiles. Even doing that, it’s still got really dusty. And it’s summer in Florida no less, so I really don’t want to turn my a/c off. So the second day, I placed the air purifier in the areas that’s a being worked on, and wow what a difference it helped make! It was working none stop on max like a horse. Now I definitely want two of them to spread between areas of the house. I know I’ll still need to get my a/c unit serviced to have it thoroughly cleaned from dust to prevent damage to the unit, but this machine is helping with keeping that dust to a minimal amount compared to the first day when I didn’t think to use it! This is worth getting and covers a good amount of square footage! As soon as I can spare some mula to get another one, I definitely will so I won’t have to move it from room to room. Only down side is it does get kinda loud when running on max mode (when air quality is red), so if you’re trying to relax and watch tv with this in the same room, be prepared to put your valume on really loud or use AirPods to listen to your show lol 😂 otherwise the noise doesn’t bother me, it’s just hard to hear the tv over it if it’s running on max!

I have owned a lot of air, cleaners, this is by far the greatest air cleaner I’ve ever owned. I initially purchased this because the filters are washable, and I won’t have to keep replacing expensive filters. I have it placed in my living room and initially I turned the fan speed on three. The unit has an unbelievably sensitive air quality sensor. I noticed that as soon as I would start to cook something in the kitchen or the cleaning lady would show up the LED lights would change to detect odors or dust particles. I now have the fan speed set to automatic. Now the fan normally runs at low speed and then when it detects an odor or dust, the fan speed automatically bumps up to a higher speed. I am in love with this air cleaner and highly recommend to others. This is an update 6/16/25, the unit has stopped working after only five months. Very disappointed after spending so much money!!!!!

This review is in regards to the Nuwave Oxpure Zero E500 purifier. I figured it's about time to write a review. First off, I'll address their customer service. I was amazed at how quickly they addressed some issues I had with the purifier. I contacted them and and they promptly sent me a return label so I could send it back to them for repairs. The two ladies I was in contact with are Perla and Crystal. I can't say enough good things about them and all the help I received. Perla emailed me doing a follow up to see how it is working after it was returned to me. Not many companies will do that. I'm happy to report the purifier is working great now and hopefully I'll get many years of service from the purifier.
