3.5/5 on replayability
Easy to learn with wonderful art! This is a competitive party game where players change roles each round, so everyone gets to be the dreamer and most people get to try out being all 3 other characters. Good replayability if you keep playing with different groups, but familiarity with the cards can lead you to be able to guess the correct answer more quickly depending on clues given. Only complaint is that some cards are a bit too specific, like fir tree. It's not difficult to get someone to guess pine tree, but fir tree is a very specific tree. In general, most cards are not very specific, so the dreamer won't be thinking to guess a more detailed word.

Easy to learn and fun to play
My wife and I play board games a lot and on occasion we host board game nights at our home. This game is fantastic for a board game night. It is easy to learn and the mechanics ensure that everyone in the game is participating. Having to think of a single word to describe some of the cards can be tough especially if you are the boogeyman. Some of the people that we play with are new to board games and this game has always been their favorite. its simple to understand but hard to master. The hardest mechanic in the game is "remembering the dream" as in our games the dreams on average are about 5-8 words long. having to remember those while listening to clues on a new word is difficult but fun and we loved the challenge. I would recommend this game to anyone who is thinking of hosting a game night.

Unique, fun, interactive, and creative! This party game is a winner!
When I Dream is a party game in which one player takes on the role of a dreamer and wears a blindfold. The other players at the table are given hidden roles, which are not revealed to anyone during play. The three possible roles include: a Sandman, a boogie man, and a dream fairy. In the center of the table is placed a small plastic-molded bedframe which contains a deck of cards. Each card is beautifully illustrated, and features two prominent themes/items on each side. These two items are named on the top and bottom of the cards - each different. When placed into the plastic bed frame (deck holder) and held in place by a plastic pillow, only one of the two names is visible. All players except the blindfolded dreamer take a few seconds to look at the card and make sure they each know the name of the item on the card. Then, a two minute sand timer is started. Each of the players at the table give a one word clue about the item named on the card. However, not every player actually wants the dreamer to correctly identify the name of the item on the card. The Dream fairies each give good clues because they get points for words that are correctly named. The boogie man characters will give for clothes because they get points for every word that is not correctly named. And the third row, the Sandman, will get points if there is an even number of correct they named The boogie man characters will give for clothes because they get points for every word that is not correctly named. And the third row, the Sandman, will get points if there is an even number of correctly named words and incorrectly named cards, so they may give good or bad clues. The dreamer gets points for correctly named words, and gets additional bonus points if they are able to tell a story of their dream and use each of the correctly named words during their tale. The game is quite fun, quite original, and contains very high quality components. The replayability of this game is quite good. The game is appropriate for all ages and can’t be played by up to 10 people. The game is quite fun, quite original, and contains very high quality components. If you are a fan of other artsy games, like Dixit, then you will most likely enjoy this game, too.

Great party game & beautiful artwork
This is one of my favorite games to play with a larger group of friends (at least 5+ to make it more fun). Not only is the artwork on the cards stunning, but the overall material and quality of the items are very well made. They're sturdy and don't feel cheap like many games do. Everything is well thought out and executed! The only concern was with the scoring directions. Many of my friends got confused and even myself at first. After the 2nd or 3rd time playing, it's not too hard. Shipping was incredibly fast too.

Nice and Lite
"When I dream" is 4-10 player game of trying to score the most points by helping the dreamer, tricking dreamer, or keeping things even. The game ends after each player is able to be the dreamer, and the highest score wins. Setup is shuffling the dream cards and setting up the draw area, which is bed, and is followed with passing out Spirit cards. Spirit cards determine the goals the players are trying to achieve against each dreamer, and will change with each dreamer. The Spirit cards are Fairies, trying to get the reader to guess the correct dream, Imps, trying to get the dreamer to guess incorrectly, and Tricksters, who simply want the Fairies and Imps to have the same amount of points. After this the players will decide to either look at the top word on the card, easy, or the bottom word which can be a little more difficult. At the start of a player's turn as a dreamer, a timer is flipped and they must guess the correct dreams (words) that are found on each card. This is done by blindfold and the players surrounding them each giving a one word clue to the dream. When clues are given, they will be given in player order starting left of the dreamer. They will continue to give clues until the dreamer guesses the dream, or two clues are given. If they guess correctly it is placed in the Fairy scoring spot, incorrectly the imp scoring spot. A new card is drawn and more clues are given. When the two minute timer is done the dreamer will then attempt to recall the dream they had, which is all the guesses they made. If the guesses match the cards in the Fairy scoring area than the dreamer gets a bonus point. The scoring phase will now begin as players reveal their Spirit cards. The Fairies and dreamer each score one point for each correct guess. The Imp will get one for each wrong guess in their scoring area. The Trickster will compare the good and bad guesses of the dreamer. If a stack has only a difference of one, they score 1 point for the larger pile. If a stack has a difference of two, they score 1 point for the smaller stack. If the stacks are even, they score one stack for 1 point each and a bonus 2 points. The dreamer passes to the next player on the left, and Spirit cards are shuffled and passed out again. "When I Dream" is a nice game that plays rather quickly and kids can easily join in. The only issue is the hidden roles do not really matter as players will quickly realize what spirit card someone has. Players can be more coy about the words they are using to confuse the player, but there are other games that do this better. The fact that it is just a one time play through around the table makes it a game that does not overstay its welcome. It also has a great design as the card holder is a bed. If extra party games are needed, a person would not go wrong with adding this to there collection.

Love This Game!
Took a few rounds to really understand how the game works and how to count points for each player, but once we got the hang of it this game easily climbed to the favorite game for game nights with friends and family. Tip: it shows you how bad your short term memory really is. It’s very creative and would be a perfect gift for someone who does/goes to game nights and would make an awesome addition to your list of games.

Fun party game
We bought this for my birthday party, as we needed a game that could run with 8-10 people. Even after several drinks, we were all able to learn the rules quickly and had a great time. Excited to play it again!
