Very Happy Customer - Good product, good functionality, great customer service
I have really enjoyed having the RainPoint timer / water controller. It made a huge difference in keeping our yard looking fresh this past summer and provided flexibility well beyond 'set it and forget it' timers. With the bluetooth connectivity and straight forward interface, you always have full control. Flow rate does not appear to be affected by having the controller in line and the scheduling function is spot on. These things alone would lead me to providing a 5 start review. When I went to start using the controller this spring I noted that the unit had 'sprung' a leak. I reached out to RainPoint customer service via email and got a response within 24 hours. A couple of clear photos of the issue later and my replacement was on its way. I received it after a few days and I am back up and running. Great product, great service, this is the way it should work.

Great app
have tried several other automated timers and always had issues. So far so good with this one. There are several “smart” functions that I still need to try but for an automated simple timer connected through an app, this has worked great. It did take me a while to get the app setup and everything connected but once you go through this process, the rest is fairly intuitive. The app has several options to customize for every situation and is fairly easy to use after playing around for a little bit. You can also send notifications and it even estimates the amount of water used. The app also connects with Alexa and i did play around with some Alexa commands that all worked well. One word of caution is the timer must have access to WiFi to connect with your phone so if your hose is in a distant location, you may have issues. In terms of the actual timer, the top connection is brass and the bottom is plastic. I’m a little worried about the plastic connection cross-threading but so far no issues. The packing was fine and shipping was quick from amazon.

Good Smart Water Timer, but Wi-Fi Range and App Need Improvement
The RAINPOINT WiFi Water Timer is a useful and practical device for automating garden watering. When the Wi-Fi signal is strong, it works well and allows you to control schedules easily. It’s convenient for saving time and managing water usage more efficiently. However, the main issue is that it struggles to connect when the Wi-Fi signal is a bit far, which makes it difficult to use reliably with Alexa. In addition, the mobile app feels outdated and slow, which affects the overall user experience. Despite these drawbacks, it’s still a good product, but improving the app and Wi-Fi connectivity would easily make it a 5-star device.

Good Timer and Great Customer Service
I have been using a series of the Rainpoint TTV103WRF timers for the last 2 years, and this has been my experience. The wifi hub is pretty easy to set up (if you have a dual-band or 2.4Ghz wifi router). The timers are also easy to connect to the hub. The app for controlling the timers is simple to set up and intuitive to use. I currently have 4 timers set up across 4 raised beds, and I love being able tailor each timer to meet the watering needs of each bed. The app tells you how much water was used on the most recent irrigation session, which can help you notice if there's a problem (like setting it to run for 10 hours instead of 10 minutes or forgetting to turn on the water at the faucet). I can also access and control the timers when I'm away from home since the hub connects to the wifi router, which is very handy if you need to be away for several days and want to verify that everything is still working. You can also set rain delays for each timer for up to 72 hrs. The wifi hub also has an outlet built into it that can be controlled through the app. I haven't really made use of this yet, but I could see myself plugging my grow lights into the outlet and using that to control the on/off schedule rather than the mechanical timer that I'm currently using. NOTE: There have been 2 versions of the timers that I've used which had the same model number (and 2 versions of the wifi hubs that also have the same model number), and they are NOT interchangeable. 1 had a plastic connector and 1 had a brass connector. The timer with the brass connector is the newer version and will not connect to the hub that comes with the plastic connector timer. The plastic connector timer can connect to either version of the wifi hub. I could find a difference between the different versions of the hubs, so I labeled them "plastic" and "brass" (both on the hubs and in the app) based on which timer it came with so I could know which was which. There is also a hard limit of 4 timers that can connect to each hub. If you try to connect a 5th, the hub just doesn't recognize that it's trying to connect. But you can connect more timers if you have another hub, and all of the timers can be accessed at the same time through the app regardless of which hub they're connect to. The durability of the timers has been hit or miss, but the customer service is great! I've had 3 timers that failed (1 would burn through a set of batteries in a couple days, 1 would repeatedly lose connection, and 1 said that it had a leak), so I contacted their customer service ([email protected]) and they replaced each of them at no cost. You need to make sure you have the timer model number, timer serial number, timer lot number, Amazon order number, and maybe some pictures or a video showing what the problem is. When the first timer failed, I thought that I was going to be replacing these on semi-regular basis and I was wondering if I needed to switch to a different brand/product, but once I learned how great their customer service is, I'm going to use these timers on all of my gardens going forward.

This is a game changer. I can now go away for a week andd not worry about watering my garden. It is easy to set up and the app works perfectly. Wish i had gotten this a long time ago. No longer bothering neighbors to come water my gardens.

I’ve had at least 3 different other brands of wifi controllable water valves, this one way out performs the others in terms of speed reliability and ease of use. There are a few annoying quirks hopefully they’ll sort out. First of all, in Canada, you can’t purchase a standalone valve without a hub, which is annoying as this is my second unit, I suppose I can use the other as a spare. The app itself could be improved for use if you have more than one valve on a single hub. Lastly, it’s not Apple HomeKit supported which is a big shame. Overall though, it’s quick, and responsive either using the valve button or the app.

You can not go wrong purchasing this Irrigation Timer. Took it out of the box, connected it to the Wifi, programmed in my cycles and connected to the tap. Very easy to set up and install and has worked flawlessly ever since I turned it on. Would definitely purchase again. 😁

Absolute garbage. The hub resolutely refused to connect to any of the three wifi networks that I tried it on - including one hosted on a dedicated 2.4 ghz single-band router that I run exclusively for IOT devices. There is ZERO excuse for a simple hub device of this sort that cannot be connected to wifi after two days of fighting with it. Save yourself the annoyance, and buy something else.
