Broadway Strawberry Wheels Red 4.4lb bag

December 2024 my daughter's and I went to Universal Studio for Harry Potter World. I purchased a mix of candies and these were the clear favorite. I prefer my licorice or gummies to have a little firmer texture and they are great. When we returned home, I hunted for days until I found Broadway Wheels. They smell and taste amazing. Unfortunately, my household has quickly gone through several of the large bags but we will be ordering again.

I go through these jags where I MUST HAVE "whatever of the moment", and for the past few months it's been these Broadway red licorice wheels. I had found them in a local old-time candy shop, and would buy a bag of 10 for $4.00. That didn't last long before I'd have to head back and spend more than I thought reasonable on a little bag of candy. Then I discovered that the next town over had a *bigger* candy shop, and they sold theirs with about 20 in the bag for $3.00, bonus! At some point, it was clear that I was eating way too many of these things. Did that stop me from buying them? Nope. I went on Amazon, to see if I could get a BIGGER bag for less $. I actually read a bunch of reviews, checked prices, and decided on this seller, even though I was a bit nervous about buying a huge bag of them if they didn't end up tasting the same as the expensive candy store. Voila! HUGE BAG of red licorice wheels arrived *just* before the quarantine began, and they are exactly the same as the ones I'd been spending way too much money on. Also, having a huge amount of these red licorice wheels at home has actually cut down on the number that I'm eating each day. Not sure why, probably because I'm too busy spending countless hours browsing aimlessly online...hours that I will never, ever get back. Anyway, I digress. That's what happens when you're home for 5 weeks and counting, waiting for the world to begin again. GREAT product, GREAT price, FAST shipping, WILL buy again(if I ever finish this huge bag).

I read the good reviews and bad and decided to take my chances anyway. Well.....The bag I got was so stale and hard that it was inedible. It took all my might trying to unpeel a wheel to eat it, and then I couldn't unpeel it for more than an inch or two and it would snap right off. It was hard, like plastic. Hard like break-you-tooth hard. Did not taste the same as the Broadway wheels I buy at my local store either. This was more like a 4lb red, shiny, sweet smelling brick than candy. You could do some damage if you knocked someone upside the head with it. I called Amazon and they refunded me.

Received and couldn't return because it was past the date to do so. They were stale and hard as a rock. Very disappointed.

I was really hoping these were the wheels like the ones in the Wiley Wallaby funsorts assorted bags. Unfortunately, they are a bit different. Still pretty tasty. These have more of a strawberry taste, which is pretty good. The bad part is they are a bit harder, although taking them out of the fridge and leaving them in a warmer cupboard has helped them soften. While eating them they stick to your teeth a whole lot.

Al principio me dio un poco de desconfianza ya que vienen en un empaque diferente al producto que compro en tienda y trae una etiqueta que dice .. Duplicado. Si es el peso pero no son 4 bolsas son 2. Si es el sabor y son suaves. Contrariada, estan ricos es un dulce uqe me gusta mucho. Pero la presentacion me da en contra ya que no es lo especificado en la pagina.
