Best picture for mid-budget oled
Purchased 3 months ago. After weeks of non-stop research I decided to go with the A80L 65”. I’ll keep it simple, it’s the best picture quality I’ve seen out of all the tvs I’ve owned in my life. The way action scenes look, or how accurate colors are in colorful scenes, mind blowing. Trees, mountains, cars, shadows.. all look too real, astonishing. The game mode feature is one of the best, easiest & smoothest ones out there. It has many features that I believe will accommodate majority of gamers. Not really much to that. For tv speakers, it packs quite a little punch. I can tell that it’ll obviously sound better with a Sony Bravia soundbar, as the tv & soundbar sync into 1 system. But any good Dolby Atmos soundbar will/should be fine for most. The only negative thing I have to say is that, it doesn’t get very bright.. Some dark scenes are almost hard to make out, even at max brightness. Besides that no issues at all

Beautiful, stunning picture and Feature-packed!
This tv exceeds my expectations! I keep finding more and more things to love about it. NGL, my main reason for choosing Sony was because I love my PS5 and spend significant time playing. The second reason is I needed an upgrade and can finally afford an OLED. The picture quality is stunning, crisp, deep and colorful. The blacks are really black and the brights are vibrant. I love the Ambience feature and all the creative, beautiful packages I can download for free. It is easy to setup and walked us through how to get the most out of the TV picture and audio settings. The sound is also worth mentioning; it has impressive built in speakers but I’d strongly suggest buying a proper sound system. We already own a Sony system and the tv synced up with it without us doing anything. Last thing, it came with credits from Sony Core to use toward IMAX and 8k movies (free!!) and a free year subscription. Last last thing, the tv works easily with iPhone/appleTV even while using Google UI/features. I’m very happy with this purchase.

Good purchase.
TV looks absolutely great. We do have to unplug it for a few minutes after a few months because it tends to want to freeze apps and act weird in a program. However we've had to do that with EVERY smart TV we've ever owned. Don't know why they do that. All that aside, we really love the purchase. Picture is brilliant.

Freezes up, but still worth buying.
Awesome TV with a very high quality picture, and sound. The only bad part is that it freezes up every now and again. The imax display looks insanely good.

Great OLED for the price!
At home delivery is a great free service putting the TV in the room I needed. Picture is fantastic. LG OLEDs are a little brighter but Sony image processing is still the best. Upscaling HD to 4k which is nearly all TV channels is done well. 4k image from Netflix, Disney, Amazon streaming looks very good. Not the best interface for streaming but as long as you’re using an Apple TV, PS5, Xbox, Google TV or Ruku for streaming it won’t matter. Highly recommend. The 65” one is the best deal for the money right now. Going smaller does not save you much money but going larger is way too expensive. If you can’t afford Sony OLED 90s series which is much more expensive but better picture than these 80s series are good value for the quality. OLED are better than any LED/QLED/UHD in the market.

Disaster
I just unboxed and set up this TV today. I was really excited! It has excellent reviews, and the majority of folks say Sony is the best brand of OLED TV! What's happened after I turned it on was very anti-climactic. Diary on day 1 of unboxing: **The included remote batteries were faulty.** At first I thought the screen was freezing. Eventually, after trying literally every kind of TV and remote software update, I realized there's a light on the bottom of the TV that flashes each time you press a remote button, which clued me into the fact that it's not always receiving the buttons I'm pressing. I tried new AAA batteries, and that solved that. I moved onto the next problem. **The Google TV software is repeatedly crashing from the home screen.** On the home screen of Google TV, which is essentially the home screen of the TV, there's this gigantic, silly "Best of 2023" link to click on (apparently to suggest "the best movies of the year 2023", which I don't care about and don't know how to remove), and it happens to be the *first* thing you can click on on the screen. When I click on it, the entire Google TV software crashes. I get an error saying "Loading error" "Unable to load data. Please try again later.", and when I go back to the home screen, it's just a black screen, and it stays permanently black even after power cycling the TV. The only way to fix this is to go to Settings -> Apps -> Google TV -> Clear Cache, then Settings -> System -> Restart. Absolutely ridiculous. ***3 hours after unboxing, the TV won't turn on anymore.*** It's not the remote this time, or Google TV. When I turn it on, I can hear some relays switch on and off, so I know it received the signal, but it's just a black screen, literally nothing happens, even after a few minutes. So I found this Sony article titled My OLED TV screen goes black after I turn on the TV" which says: "This happens when the Picture reset mode is set to On, and you unplug your TV power cord, plug it back in, and then turn it on. The screen will return to normal when the calibration is complete (****approximately ten minutes****)." (Emphasis mine.) Yeah, right. I'm pretty pessimistic at this point, but I set a 20 minute timer anyway and waited with my arms crossed. ...20 minutes later... Nope! What a waste of time!!! I called Sony support. The TV has a blinking red light at the bottom. They said this usually happens only with older TVs, not with this model. Apparently I just got unlucky? Sony said they'll replace it for free, but the catch is, if I have an issue with the new TV, I can't return it. I said "no thanks, I'll be returning it through Amazon!"

+ Excellent image quality + Excellent processing speed + Android operating system + Excellent sound quality + Sufficient number of outputs and inputs - Not so good internet browser - No smart remote control (you have to use a mouse)

We’ve had this TV for over a year now and we’re very happy with the picture quality. Definitely worth the investment.

Estuvo muy bien el embalaje, la pantalla bien protegida, todo nuevo y realmente no tuve inconveniente con nada, la imagen se ve súper bien así que por eso le di 5/5 estrellas

The tv is beautiful. Colours are bright and dark is really dark. Set up is easy. No comment on the smart features since I do not use the tv for such. But the VRR and other features are great for gaming. Helps smooth out games. I love that the tv itself is much thinner than LCD and generates less heat. Audio is also very good, louder than my previous LCD from 2016.
