Updated: Great Little Travel Iron, Just not for my Quilting!
UPDATE: The third one was fine. Yay! But not great for what I needed it for. I really wanted to love this little iron, and as you can see from my review, I tried so hard to get a decent one from Amazon. But I finally got one, so here goes; The iron itself is fabulous and steams really well and irons just as good as any regular-sized iron. It has a great amount of steam holes and it’s super lightweight. But what made me return it was that I actually wanted it for quilting, and I regularly use a starch spray with my fabrics, and this was leaving a slight residue on the base of the iron, which meant I’d have to clean the base every time I used it. So I decided a ceramic sole plate iron would be a better choice. This might not seem a big deal when you’re just ironing clothes while on vacation or away on a business trip, and as basic ironing goes, it really isn’t as you’re probably not going to use a finishing spray and have to clean it constantly, and that’s why I’ve given it 5 stars because it’s fantastic, but when you’re quilting and using it as much as I am, it really is a problem. The only other niggle I had was, there wasn’t any light on it to show the iron was “live” or had reached temperature. But when you’re traveling, this isn’t a deal breaker. It’s super light and folds down beautifully. I also really like the dual voltage aspect, and I would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a travel iron. As for me and my quilting iron quest, my search goes on. I ordered the first iron, which had a quite a deep scratch on the sole plate, so I requested a replacement. When it arrived, it was obvious that it had been used previously, as the sole plate had fine scratches all over it like it had been cleaned with a scourer. I’ve again, returned this second one and I’ve ordered another one hoping that the third time’s a charm!

This Little Steamer Packs a Punch
I was visiting my daughter, and she had the Rowenta PurePop Handheld Steamer in her guest room. My suit jacket and slacks looked like they had been wadded up and left under a car seat after my flight, so I gave this thing a shot—and it worked like a charm. The steamer heats up in about 15 seconds, which is honestly faster than I can find an ironing board. It’s compact and super lightweight (about 1.5 lbs), which makes it easy to handle and perfect for travel. The 2.3 oz water tank doesn’t sound like much, but it was enough to knock the wrinkles out of a full outfit. For longer sessions, you’ll want to keep a refill handy. At 1150 watts, it’s surprisingly powerful for its size. It doesn’t replace a full-size iron for those sharp, pressed lines, but for quick touch-ups and travel use, it’s hard to beat. What I Like: – Fast heat-up time (15 seconds means no waiting around) – Super portable and great for travel – Took deep suitcase wrinkles out of my suit with no problem – Stylish design with a comfortable grip – Works on most fabrics without issue What Could Be Better: – A small water tank means frequent refills for more than 1–2 garments (not a deal killer) – You’ll still want an iron if you need crisp creases – A bit big for travel Final Thoughts: I was impressed enough after one use to buy one for myself. It’s now my go-to teamer, and let’s face it, a lifesaver when you need to look presentable quickly. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 out of 5 stars Compact, fast, and effective. Perfect for travel and quick wrinkle fixes.

Fantastic Steam Iron
my opinion, the truth, no pictures, use your imagination. 1. Skeptical because of review displaying a broken wan (handle) and the Cord being (looked to me like) torn out of the unit. The review, the handle would not stay upright, hmm, why is the cord torn out. And all the time the review was the unit broke itself. 2. Received my unit today. Delivered by USPS, the package/parcel was banged up/dented. but once opened the unit was intact. Small prayer of thanks. 3. The handle. I lifted mine up, robust click and it stayed up. I put a small amount on the handle it would not go down. I eyed the unit and at the back of the unit and oversized button that reflected the word "PUSH" i did and then the hand dropped to the down position. 4. It then dawned to me the review about the broken handle was the cause of a "Heavy Handed" I don't read instructions person. A pile of pressure and snap the plastic hinge breaks, the handle will not stay in the upright position, and the unit was then flung through the air by holding the cord which became detached. 5. A bad review was written, but the true explanation of events was not. 6. I took my unit to the ironing board, plugged it in filled with 60ml of "DISTILLED" water (bad water at my home). The Unit heated properly, produced steam properly and I did my micro ironing (advent calendar, all pieces hand cut, ironed, and sewn) and the unit ironed perfectly. 7. This iron is a KEEPER. Also, it was sold by Amazon, so therefore-my Prime Membership resulted in a two day delivery. (I'm surprised it arrived on time.) 8. There you have it. Treat your stuff nicely, follow instructions and your merchandise will last a long time.

Dial gets too hot to touch
This little iron really works! I’ve had it for a couple years now. The problem I have with it is when you go to turn the dial to a different setting it is so very hot that you burn yourself. The dial needs to sit up off the iron a bit so it doesn’t get hot. That’s the only reason I’m giving it 4 stars rather than 5. Other than that it’s one awesome iron and its small size is not lacking!

Calling all Quilters and Sewists!
I absolutely love this iron. I sew every single day and I keep this iron on my table right next to my sewing machine. My favorite thing about this iron is that it doesn’t turn off after a 8 minutes. If you sew or quilt, you know how annoying it is to need to press something only to find a cold iron. The size of this iron is perfect for my hands and it’s not heavy! It gets nice and hot and removes all wrinkles. . The steam is fantastic. Some people think the water tank is too small, but this is a small travel iron and shouldn’t be expected to hold a ton of water. I just keep a bottle of water on my table and refill as needed. I also use a WorkLion pressing mat that is fantastic with this iron. I almost didn’t order this iron because I dislike the color so much. However, it’s not so purple in person and I can can live with it.

Beautiful Design, Awful Experience — Snail's Pace, No Reliable Steam Logic
I really wanted to love this. The Rowenta Pure Pop is stylish, compact, and feels well-built—but after multiple attempts, I have to say the user experience is borderline unusable and downright maddening. The issue isn’t that it never steams. It’s that it steams intermittently, unpredictably, and without any clear signal. You’re left guessing: does the white light mean “ready”? Do you need to press the trigger to initiate the boil? Is the pulsing normal—or a design flaw? No one tells you. Even the manual is vague. As someone with a background in business, UX, and systems thinking, I’m stunned this made it to market. There are no design affordances, no cues, no way to learn the “language” of the device. You basically have to trial-and-error your way through it, and even then, it rarely delivers consistent or useful steam flow. I stood in front of a single sheet for over an hour and couldn't finish even one batch—and yes, I followed all the directions. What’s worse, many reviews led me to believe this was one of the better steamers. Maybe those folks unknowingly stumbled onto the “correct” rhythm, but that’s not good design. That’s luck. Bottom line: if you’re looking for a reliable, intuitive steamer, this isn’t it. It’s the prettiest—and worst-performing—steamer I’ve ever used. I’ll be returning mine and choosing something that respects both form and function.
