We have had a few different pet feeders as my other half is a reviewer who gets a lot of pet things to review. We had never felt a need for one of these until we started to test them, as it didnt seem that hard to top up their dry food every day. However we were converted after trying some and realising it was one less chore to do when looking afterour 2 cats. Although the others pretty much all performed well enough, we did note that the pet libro one simply looks nicer than any of the other options we had tried. So like with the cat fountains, of which we have also tested a lot of brands, the petlibro ones are the best of the huge range you can choose from. They also come on offer regularly enough that the cost is also competitive. They are a nice size, easy to set up and add to the app, they are robust and well made and they look more stylish than their rivals. Our cats both come to the recording we have added to the device and after a few attempts a getting the volume dispensed right, they now have enough food for them to graze throughout the day, never too much or too little.

Purchased as a replacement for an older model of the same device which malfunctioned just before I was due to go away for a work event for a few days! Luckily Amazon had these in stock for next-day delivery. The body is identical to the old machine, so I’ve re-used the components (utilizing just the base unit of the new device) so my cat's feeder is now black & white, just like her! Maybe it was fate. It’s also much easier to program than the older model as it’s done via an app instead of a tedious button-pressing menu system. Above all it works just like the old one (before it malfunctioned). I have already tested it dispensing kibble, snatching it away from an inquisitive and eager nose! I let her have some of the test kibble after weighing to ensure portion size. The portion sizes are roughly correct, the minimum dispense of 1/12 cup corresponds to approximately 9-10g per portion. They appear to be reasonably consistent (similarly to the older model). It works off mains and has a battery backup. My cat approves!

Very well designed. App is excellent. Scheduling is amazing. Let’s us sleep in in the mornings. The only negative is that the smallest amount you can choose to dispense is 10g which is a lot if you just want to give your cat a snack

Bought as a present for my son and his cat. Much as I love them it was getting to be a bit of a strain having to go round twice a day if he was away. With this I do the morning visit, giving her wet food and lots of cuddles. He sets the feeder to give her an auto dry food meal for her supper. He said that she quickly got used to her food being delivered this way, and using one of her normal bowls to catch the pellets helped. It is a solid machine, can't envisage your average cat being able to push it over. The food reservoir is very large and has a secure screw fit lid. You can vary the portion size to suit you and your cat(s). He also says that the phone app to schedule feeds is easy to use and works well. Very handy if he has to work late, or something unexpected happens. Has proved to be an ideal present for us all.

I bought this so we could leave the cat during the day and perhaps overnight some time without her going crazy and starving. It's fixed the starving part at least. The portion size is just a handful but you can tell it how many portions to release at one time. You can schedule it with the app, which is very easy to use and install, and I had no issues with it at all. The posts on it being late to tell you when it is low are true, it basically tells you once it's empty, not when it's low, but there's a little window to easily see how much is in it. I read a lot of reviews of kinds with varying prices, and ended up with this one as it has the app that will let me reschedule if we're away. We haven't been yet, so I can't tell you how the connectivity is, yet so far, we've loved it. And the cat is really used to it.

My cat’s on large dental kibble that only this machine can handle without jamming. I live in a small flat and find this unit very noisy when in operation but this wouldn’t be an issue if it could be placed further away. It’s never warned me if the food is running low before it’s all gone despite this claim, the current kibble needs refilling once a month and stays as fresh as can be expected. Measure a single dispensed portion and weigh it separately to help you figure out portion sizes and avoid over/under feeding issues as different kibble will result in different weights being dispensed through the same hole (the unit doesn’t measure itself). Sadly the size of the hole the food falls into before being dispensed into the bowl results in too much food for the amount my cat needs, so it doesn’t help me feed her automatically when I’m away from home. Half sized holes/portions would help, even if that means more rotations. Dispensing from my mobile works well if I’m delayed. I like that I can control the lights and buttons…my cat can also press the buttons on the unit itself which beep but so far she hasn’t figured out how to dispense any food herself…yet!

Product stopped switching on (whether through power cable or battery) two months after the 12-month warranty expired.

This is an amazing piece of kit allowing you to fill and leave and not to worry about it missing dispensing a meal ( like my previous cheap model). Worth every penny

This feeder is completely faulty and borderline scam-level bad. The unit will not power on via cable. I tested multiple cables, including the supplied one, which all charge my phone perfectly, so the cable works. That means the problem is an internal power failure in the device itself, making it effectively unfixable. The only way this thing turns on is with batteries, which are NOT included, meaning the already overpriced piece of junk is gonna cost you more. The moment you remove the batteries, the unit dies again because cable power doesn’t work. But here’s the real kicker: when running on batteries alone, the feeder DOES NOT CONNECT TO THE APP. The entire reason anyone buys an automatic feeder like this is to control feeding through their phone or set automatic feeding times. If it can’t connect on battery power, and cable power doesn’t work at all, this product is nothing more than a glorified pet food container. This isn’t a minor issue or user error, this is a fundamental product failure. A "smart" feeder that can’t stay powered or connect properly is not a smart feeder, it’s plastic junk. Absolute waste of money. Faulty out of the box. Avoid at all costs.

Bad product, would not recommend. Doesn’t dispense the same amount of food each time - it actually tells you this in the instructions, just wish this was in their product page too. When I program in 10g, it’ll dispense between 12g and 15g on average. I’ve had a couple of days where it didn’t dispense at all. It needs constant internet connection to keep on schedule - one day for whatever reason it could no longer connect to the wifi and that meant no more food. Figuring out how to reconnect to the wifi via their app was exactly intuitive either.
