PRESIDENT Iowa RW CB Radio Antenna

I did numerous tests with multiple brands of antennas with different lengths, I tested the Hustler HQ-27, Radioddity CBL-561 and the President Iowa, both Hustler and Radioddity antennas were giving a high SWR around 1.7 to 2.8 and were difficult to tune with to the radio, I then installed the President Iowa with the tuning rings preset in the center before installing, I checked the SWR at channels 1, 40 and channel 20 at the center of the spectrum, it was 1.2 at channel 1, dead flat at channels 20 and 40 which I think was fantastic, I could fine tune it to make it dead flat across the whole band but I think it’s good for now and the reception and receive are clear, I believe the length of the President Iowa works very well over the longer antennas but it depends on the location of the antenna, I have installed in a front fender mount with a PL-259 type connector and a SO-239 to 3/8-24 adapter which gives the option to easily install numerous types of antennas, it is well worth it for the price.

Excellent antenna with a very quite noise floor, easily adjusted to a flat SWR. Excellent range as well. Using it with my President Bill II FCC.

I have had this antenna for 4months and it broke at the plastic base. I had it mounted with a spring and it was sheltered by my cab for about the bottom half of the antenna. I do travel on the highway but usually at 75-80 mph. Well that must be too much. The antenna separated at the bottom by the president clear rubber band. The swr went out from 1.0 across the band to 2.2-2.7. That was the lowest I could get it other than that it was in the 4. Range. I really liked the antenna before it broke. Nice range for size, looks good, easy to tune. Not much bad to say about it except it broke.

Nothing not to like.Great little antenna for the price.

Works as advertised, now the cb band needs to come back.

Overall length specified (40") is whip+base exclusive of mounting screw. Comes pretuned, required a turn or two of the tuning rings for my application to bring it flat across the band. No wrench flats so overtightening "shouldn't" be an issue. Not quite sure the purpose of the rubber ring over the "President" label. Longevity to be determined.
