First, please be sure this is the size you need. It's narrow, not standard. In my case, it's the size I was replacing, so it was appropriate for me. It's a very sturdy product that has to be forced into the grooves to hold the screen fabric securely. It has held my pet screening in place, and my 16 pound cat hangs from the screen without dislodging it, but that's because it's the correct size. You get a lot of spline, 100 feet, for a very reasonable cost. It was easily cut with scissors or a utility knife. But you will still need the tools to install it, and I followed by forcing it in further with a screwdriver. It's holding up well and I'm pleased with it.

Just as advertised, worked perfectly.

Easy to cut, seat, and to roll tight quickly. Thought at first it might be a little small for the groove, but after seating it fully with the handy roller, it held just great. Several other reviews noted the tendency for it to really tangle up quickly. You better believe them! Once I figured out to use the old one just removed and hold it next to the big ball of spline and cut it about 3" longer, it got tons easier to handle. Now all my screens are redone and I'm proud of my work on it. Good bang for the buck too, as you end up using hundreds of feet for a normal house.

Was just what Iwanted

Used this to re-screen windows, and it held the mesh securely. Feels durable and easy to insert without tearing the screen. A solid buy for DIY screen repair.

Durable and easy to use on a thicker screen

Item arrived in good shape and works well on my screens. I probably could have used a slightly larger size, but this was fine.

Hard to know the correct size of spline to order. I measured with a digital micrometer, and still not sure if I got the correct size. Too thick ,its hard to get into the channel, too thin, it won't stay in. This spline was not smooth, it had ridges running the length. It twisted and was difficult to' keep' the tool running along smoothly. If I do it again i'll look for a smooth spline
