Great harness
This harness was great for my 110 lb dog. It's very sturdy and the duck material doesn't pick up any sticker weeds and protects the dog. It is not padded and doesn't need to be. Easy to put on with lots of room to adjust for fit. There is no reflectiveness, but looks like a working jacket. My dog gets lots of compliments when we are out and people ask if he is a working dog.

Love the single buckle
Works wells with my bully mix that is 99% muscle and still learning his leash manners. The single buckle closure is fabulous, making the pre-walk ritual much easier when he is jumping with excitement to go for walkies. And makes the removal fast and easy when I’m exhausted after the walkies. Take the time make sure you fit it well as I did not on the first time he wore it and it rubbed his skin raw under his armpit (entirely user error on my part). But once we got the length correct around his neck, we haven’t had any further issues. Good quality materials, reflective stitching glows well under direct light at night. Bully mix, approx 55lb, burly and short stature, size large fits perfectly.

Exceeds expectations!
My dog looks so awesome with the harness. Its thick, durable and comfortable. I also like that it reflects when your walking your dog at night. My dog is about 30-35 pounds, I took a wild guess and got him a large. It fits great, has enough room for growth without fitting too big. I would highly recommend.

Good quality, and it works
This harness is better than one I tried that had a different design. I tried a different harness (Brand X) because my dog pulls a lot. The other harness helped some, but the Carhartt harness is better for controlling pulling. The top part of the Carhartt harness is thicker and more substantial that the Brand X harness. The Brand X harness was a flimsier material. When my dog pulled, it would bunch up on top. The Brand X harness had three buckles; the Carhartt harness has only one buckle, so it’s easier to put on and take off. To put it on, you slip it over the dog’s head and then buckle the strap that goes around the chest. The Carhartt harness design is simpler, and it works well. The front hook seems to reduce pulling even better than the rear hook, though the straps bunch up a bit if the dog turns its head. The chest strap is thick and strong. All in all, this is a sturdy, well designed harness that works. It really helps lessen pulling. Now if my dog sees a squirrel, all bets are off, regardless of what harness is used.

Solid harness for “on the go” pups!
One of the best harnesses I’ve purchased for my 60 lb Labrador Retriever. She’s very active and picky about having things on her. It’s held up great to dirt and hair. The clasps are solid, and she is definitely a puller. Fairly easy to put on, as it’s one clasp to clip. The only drawback is she doesn’t like things over her head, which there’s not a way to get around that. True to size measurements. Good value for the money. Thick hardy exterior and soft inner shell. Looks great on her too!

Best one yet!
Best fit of many tried, provides multiple points of leash attachment which provide great control of 85 pound 3 year old Labrador. Great product and looks good too; very sturdy attachment points.

Quality harness
I really liked the last harness I purchased. But the Carhartt is true quality. The fit is great, this is the first one she could not get her mouth under to chew. This harness is the easiest that I’ve had to put on her. The bottom strap is not too close to the front legs, so no worry about chafing. There is still room for adjustments. The handle is a bonus for a rambunctious pup. Yes, I paid more for this one, but the old saying applies, you get what you pay for. This being the third one in three months, I hope that it will be a little while before she needs a new one.

Great on normal dogs, caution on dogs with disabilities
It works amazing for my first yorkie, he is a bad puller and this definitely helped reduce some of the pulling, but we do have a second who is a tripod and unfortunately I don’t think it works very well for him. It slid around his body frequently during the walk because he’s missing a leg in the front to hold it there which is not the harnesses fault. But we were a little disappointed because most normal harnesses work on him and we really liked this one for our first yorkie. One thing I was confused about was that it fit very well around their chests but it was decently loose around both of their necks even on the tightest setting, I’m not sure if it is supposed to fit like that or not. But overall on a normal dog I think it’s great and does its job to reduce the pull.
