Small Investment with Great Results
I'm just getting into making ice cream at home and after doing weeks of exhaustive research, including probably 100 hours of YouTube videos (I know, I have a problem, but the research is for me a big part of the fun), I was ready to set my budget at between $200 and $400 for a compressor ice cream machine. Then I ran across this Dash My Cup Set. I returned to YouTube and after just a few videos I decided that for a small fraction of my initial budget I could "get my feet wet" with the My Cup. Another deciding factor was that the Freezer Mugs were small enough to not sacrifice too much of my freezer space. I've made several batches of ice cream using both the included recipes and some I have found online and I must say, the results have been fabulous. Sure the finished ice cream right out of the machine is a soft serve consistency but after a couple of hours in the freezer you will have ice cream firm enough to form excellent scoops. Just be sure to follow good recipes otherwise you may end up with ice cream hard as a rock. So learning a bit about the science of ice cream is critical for good results. Although the portion size is small, it's actually bigger than I expected. I'm an ice cream lover and sure, polishing off the entire batch in one sitting is no problem but, I am definitely satisfied with the amount. And if you opt for the Set with the extra mug, you'll always have a mug ready for your next batch. Definitely the way to go in my opinion. The My Mug is very well made (as are most of the Dash products of which I have an Egg Cooker and a Waffle Iron) and the motor will turn the dasher through the thickest of recipes. If you overload with mix-ins it might run into difficulties but otherwise you're good to go. Will the My Mug be the "end game" ice cream machine? Probably not. But for a small investment I can experiment with different recipes and see where this new found hobby takes me. And even if I do get a larger, fancier and more expensive machine in the future, I will probably keep the My Mug anyway to test out new flavors. This way I can see what I like without wasting too many ingredients.

Works great! Easy to use & clean
I love this ice cream maker. It not only works great it's the perfect size and easy to use and clean. I was hesitant to try it because of the negative reviews but I'm glad I didn't listen to those people and just gave it a try. I put very little effort into using it and it turned out great every time. Not sure why some people had problems with it or if it was just user error or inability to follow directions. But i found it super easy to use and very versatile. I put the mug/bowl in the freezer for 2 days first to make sure it was sufficiently cold. The first thing i made was simple vanilla ice cream using the recipe in the book (although i didn't even measure exact amounts, i just guessed and eyed it). Poured the milk/cream/sugar combo in and let it go for about 25 minutes. Poured in some chocolate syrup in at the end and had myself some yummy perfect chocolate ice cream. It was on the softer side which is how i prefer ice cream so it was perfect for me. Also i noticed if you eat out of the frozen bowl it stays cold longer and if you push the ice cream around to the sides as you're eating it, it continues to freeze and harden. Transferring it to a different container will only make it melt faster. The second thing i made was a fruit sorbet sort of thing. I did this last minute with no plan and it turned out great. It was super hot and i was making a fruit smoothie, then decided to pour my smoothie into the ice cream maker to see what would happen. It was literally just bereies, juice and a little milk. After 25 minutes this turned into a fruity iced treat that was super delicious and perfect on a 90 degree day. The next thing i tried was putting in yogurt mixed with milk and juice and this turned out as a creamy mix between ice cream and iced slushy. I'm amazed at all the different creations you can make with this thing and how simple it is to use. Also clean up is quick and easy which i like. Having 2 bowls seems like the best idea, especially for a single person, as you always have one in the freezer ready to use. This makes the perfect amount for one person but it can make enough for 2 even in one bowl. This is a great product especially for the price. Glad i didn't get one of those expensive ice cream makers that probably doesn't even work as well. If you have been wanting to make your own ice cream or iced/cold treats/concoctions, then give this a try. Don't listen to the negative reviews because this thing is awesome and works great! So glad I finally got one.

Nifty little gadget
This is a pretty nifty little gadget. My only complaint would be that there are very few recipes included. There are a total of six. Seriously? There definitely should have been more recipes so I donโt have to scour the internet to find them. A couple recipes in the description of the item would have been helpful, so I could buy the necessary items and have them on hand when it was delivered. Iโd say the ice cream was softer than soft serve, but the vanilla ice cream recipe was good, although I added a bit more vanilla than called for. Itโs not very noisy, at least itโs a lot quieter than my โregularโ ice cream machine! Super easy to use.

I Scream U Scream We ALL Scream YAAAAAAA
Me and the kids LOVED this. It was so easy to use and the ice cream came out soft and amazing. My husband wanted the ice cream a tad harder so we used the tips on how to do that and we all fell in love. It was super easy to clean. I can't wait to make many many more!!!!

Chocolate protein shake
I followed directions and froze the cup for 36 hours. I used a cold chocolate protein shake as the liquid. I turned on product and poured in liquid. After 15 minutes it was slushy. I decided to eat it. I did enjoy the slushy texture. One issue is that a lot of the liquid had frozen to the bottom of the cup and I could not get it out. Iโll still use this and try other liquids

We like it
The cups freeze up nicely. Seems to hold that freeze for a while. I have not noticed any leaking. The recipes are ok. Ingredients are easy to find. The power of the motor seems decent. I think overall, it has taken it about 20-30 minutes to get a decent ice cream consistency. Itโs a cute little thing and works well for a quick small cup of ice cream. I think itโs worth buying.

Works great!
It works exactly it says it would. I highly recommend following the instruction. If you want your life cream to be frozen harder, freeze it after making it using the maker. Great product!

Wasnโt sure all of the positive reviews were accurate, but they are.
My wife and I have two grandchildren, and weโre always looking for fun things to do with them, because most kids like sweets, finding a product which entertains and educates while providing an end result which is tangible isnโt easy, so when I came across this simple ice cream maker, and read the reviews, I decided to give it a try. The set up is simple; clean the cups before freezing for 24 hours and clean the rotating paddle for future use. Before using the ice cream maker, you need to prepare the mixture and allow it to cool before using. Once everything is ready, pull out the mug from the freezer, place the paddle into the motorized top, and secure it to the mug before placing the ingredients into the ice cream maker. One thing I donโt like is the way ingredients are put into the tce cream machineโฆthereโs a small opening to pour in the liquid ingredients, which is fine, however, putting in solid ingredients can be difficult. Breaking cookies and candies into small enough pieces to fit in the tiny opening produces tiny pieces in the finished ice cream, and trying to pour in non-liquid ingredients, like caramel or chocolate sauce, it gets messy. With that being said, when itโs time to turn off the ice cream machine and remove it from the mug, the results are a delicious โsoft serveโ ice cream in the mug. If you want it like the more frozen variety (to scoop or spoon), youโll have to transfer the soft serve into a container (with lid), and place it in the freezer to harden. One thing which may make this easier is if they included lids for the mugs so no transfer would be necessary. If you want multiple flavors, you have to use the same mechanized top on the second cup, and repeat the process. Again, if you want a more solid product, once again you complete a transfer and place the second ice cream flavor into the freezer. If making for the grandkids, immediate gratification is almost always necessary, so after the 20 minute freezing process, they can dig in. Naturally, my wife and I had to test the ice cream maker before introducing the fun project to the kids. We prepared to mugs, we used the same ice cream base so two different flavors (vanilla and any other flavor, like chocolate or coffee flavored).and then chose different items to add to our mugs (crushed Oreos or Reeses Cups vs Caramel and ,Iโm I Marshmallow). I prepared my wifeโs first, and the product came out like soft serve with her desired additions, and when I was cleaning the top and paddle before pulling out the second mug before starting my preferred product, she tasted the ice cream and said โthis is freaking deliciousโ. I transferred her ice cream into another container so she wouldnโt the whole thing and make her sick, then I made my choice and put it in the freezer once the churning process was completed. Mine came out amazing, as well. If this came with lids for the mugs I would give it five stars, but if thatโs not a big issue, then the finished product deserves five stars..

Fun way to make ice cream
we really love making different ice cream flavors and this product is a easy way to do so! Would purchase more cups to make more ice cream flavors for the family.

Do not buy it
So annoying. Keeps stopping every 2/3 minutes. The machine is too hot for it to start again. When it starts again, it stops 2/3 minutes later again!

Very happy with the Dash!
I received a My Mug Ice Cream Maker as a Christmas present. Within short order, I made strawberry ice cream, and mango and lemon sorbets. All were delicious and very easy to make. I actually found that with the sorbet, one mug made two large scoops (thoโ maybe I added more mixture than suggested?). Note that a couple of hours or so in the freezer is required for a firm consistency. As I love the occasional ice cream but we are not close to ice cream shops or grocery stores, I am really happy to have the Dash on hand.
