overkill but in a good way
I got the 50L - it's a perfect size for shorter trips or smaller piles of gear. Don't think you are going to do a week-long river trip out of this one bag. I'd get the 70L in that case. But if you want something reasonable in size that carries well (the 70L would likely get very heavy), the constraint of the 50L is the way to go. The access is fine - not as easy as a U-shaped zipper opening would be, but reasonable. Build super tough. webbing, buckles - all top notch. You can find lighter-weight, more pliable bags on the market, but you're not likely to find anything as robust and overbuilt as this Yeti. If you want overkill, this is it.

Hands down toughest bag on the market!!!
If you told me 2 years ago Iโd be spending $300 on a duffel bag Iโd said you were nuts. But after borrowing brother in laws 75liter yeti for a rafting trip on the smith river, Iโm sold!!!!!!!! These panga bags are absolutely awesome! I could of tossed bag in at river entry and picked up after finished and I guarantee everything would be bone dry! Favorite bag ever unless yeti wants to send me that 28l backpack!!!! Lol

Another Great Yeti
Bought this for a gift for my husband to go on his trips to Alaska. Serves all the purposes! Fits in the overhead bins of the small planes you have to take on all legs if you donโt want to check it. It is waterproof not water resistant. Works as a backpack as well as a bag. And I think the aspect he liked the best, it is truly airtight. Another great Yeti!

Great for rafting, bad for airport. HUGE logo
Water and air tight. A little rigid, but that should be expected. It doesn't bother me, but scratches and scrapes show up pretty easily. This bag won't tear but a well placed rock would puncture it. Great for a wet and wild adventure but not so much for the airport. Not a very practical bag outside of it's niche. Biggest dislike is the giant YETI logo on the back basically screaming steal me.
