Its an entry level silicon carbide whetstone ...blue side is coarse and abrasive and the white side is super smooth almost like a japanese whetstone / shapton glass . Size wise its bigger than cumi stone yet smaller than the nainiwa japanese superstone ...but for the price ...its doing a fairly good job for sharpening up dull knives. Have tried it for high carbon 1095 steel only...dunno how well it will work for stainless steel or crucible steels like s30v or s35vn. Time will tell. It comes with a bamboo holder and a rubberized holder to keep stone entrenched firmly . Also comes with a lapping stone ..and a knife angle guide which is useless coz it doesnt mention what angles or degree it will provide. So unless you are not sure ..avoid the angle guides. All in all ...its better than cumi stone but lesser than real japanese stone but for a knife enthusiast who wants to learn sharpening and skills ...its a good place to start . Packaging was super secure and properly bubble wrapped and everything came secure and safe. Overall ...a satisfactory product for the price in india .

These are available for dirtcheap on Chinese website and are highly overpriced for what they offer. The grits on them are not at all accurate, they dish out quickly and need to be flattened after every use.
