Excelsteel 12 Quart 18/10 Stainless Steel 4 Piece Muti-Cookware Set with Encapsulated Base

I'm happy with the product. I use the insert than came with the product to steam vegetables, other than using the much smaller vegetable steamer to steam huge amounts of vegy's at once. The insert that comes with the steamer looks like the vegetable steamer but is much bigger and is about 2-3 inches from the bottom of the pan allowing filtered water to be placed in the pan before adding the vegetables. I like to slow steam the vegetables to preserve the nutrients but there is usually 2-3 cups of moisture in the pan at the end of steaming so no concern over the water evaporating during steaming. I have a busy schedule so I like to batch cook then freeze to use later. I've read other reviews with complaints over the lid breaking during cooking. The lid is not very high quality and I can see how it might be a problem but I already had a very nice sturdy glass lid so I just used that. The quality of the pan is okay. I wouldn't call it heavy duty but it gets the job done.

Got it yesterday and the pot is very well made. It works amazing with my induction cook top - I put the water to almost max to wash it out and boiled a full pot. With my 1800 watt induction cook top, it came to a strong boil within 9 minutes! Amazing. I had a lot of people over for dinner last night and made 1.8 kg of pasta and it cooked it all without issue! I love the built-in colander! It is SO useful... would be nice if the handles had protection or were heat resistant somehow, but most pots don't have that either so it isn't a big deal - I just used silicon mitts and had no issues. I love this pot so much I am buying another so I can do large batches of potatoes when I need to make mash... Looks like it is good quality so it should last with proper care... I guess time will tell ;-)

Great quality product at reasonable price. Works great for soups, pasta, crab legs, etc. Shipped quickly. Very happy.

We have a large family. The standard sized stock pots that come in the pot and pan sets, just weren't cutting it for us anymore. I purchased this at Christmas time. ( As a gift to myself from my Mother) It is wonderful! It cooks evenly, hold so much and cleans up to shiny and new after each wash. So far I have cooked 2 lbs of pasta at once. (I think I read that it could cook 3lbs, but we are not up to needing that much at one time yet) It cooked great with no nasty noodle clumps because of over crowding. Also no more trying to pour out all of that boiling hot water into a colander. Just lift the pasta cooker out and you have perfectly cooked pasta. We are also a family that loves soup! This can hold a double or even triple batch of almost any soup we can throw at it. The bottom of the pot is very sturdy (Thick, heavy, good quality) and I have never had a single item burn. The glass lid is nice, I can keep an eye on whatever is cooking (or check to see if my water is boiling) without letting the heat out by lifting the lid. For our large family...this is an ALL AROUND GREAT PRODUCT! I plan to use it for many years to come!
