Soft matte cover, bought as a gift and it turned out great!

This is by far one of the best journals I’ve had recently. I love the paper and it takes fountain ink pen really well without smudging. Some markers will bleed through but for the most part it does well with markers too. Perfect size for travel. Very durable.

Very nice quality

The Kokonote A5 Notebook (Japanese Flycatchers version) is a dotted A5 sized notebook with a nice artistic design choice in the art as well as the spline. There are 92 sheets of 100gsm dotted paper attached by a traditional binding style. The cover has a digitally printed artwork on a soft matte texture, and has an embedded elastic strap to keep the notebook closed. There is a long satin ribbon as a bookmark. Overall, this is a lovely and definitely giftable notebook that features the traditional binding with a Japanese-like painting inspired cover art.

There’s no spine on the cover of this book. (It’s an old style of binding.) However, it’s not really necessary and it reduces the wear and tear the book will receive over time. It also ensures that the book opens FLAT. The block is well sewn and paper is excellent quality. The covers are really pretty too. It’s a book I’d be proud to show off once it’s full. One of the nicer blank books I’ve seen.

The cover was completely broken off- submitted for a replacement but just a warning since it’s not bound on the side by a hard cover

Questi quaderni, che compro sempre, sono stupendi. Ottima carta. Rilegatura originale, cover splendida come soggetto, resistente e molto ben fatta. Tra i migliori quaderni/agende che conosca anche perchè sono ecologici: un fattore molto importante per me. Recano il marchio Climate Pledge Friendly a cui sto sempre attenta. La carta non è tratta con troppo cloro o sbiancanti che mi danno allergie. Sono PERFETTI!!

A repeat purchase, I'm so happy with this notebook! I especially love the exposed spine (one of the main reasons I keep repurchasing this notebook), as it really allows you to actually have it completely open to write/sketch on. So long as they keep making it, I will keep repurchasing :) I found my perfect Dotted notebook! It works for me (dots' spacing / intensity of colour etc.) without breaking the bank, win-win! Yes, I recommend it to others!
