Great little machine!
Amazon delivered in record time to my post office. Everything was intact. Machine has all the features I need and I love it because it is lightweight and easy to transport to retreats. The auto thread cutter and threader are wonderful, and this machine came with an extension table and hard case, plus extra attachments. Easy to use and works great. Wish I would've bought one years ago and wonder why I waited so long. Well worth the money. Thanks, Janome!

Janome 3160 QDC -Top Notch Sewing Machine
A compact Janome sewing machine with a strong/smooth motor, thread cutter, needle up/down, tie off button and stop/start button. And that’s just a few of its abilities. :) Janome technology and metal parts produce a quality made sewing machine favoring quilters who also dabble in home dec and clothes making. The seller sends a big note with machine that welcomes you to call them with any questions so you will be taken care of.

So quiet!
Pros: Very quiet Stitches nicely Cons: Too slow for an experienced seamstress (the reason I returned it). The take-off speed and the stitching speed are slow. Cutting tool is a nice idea, but you still have to cut the beginning threads, so not really worth it. Locking stitch is painfully slow. You could use reverse quicker. Even though it looked like the model 3160QDC-T, the model number on mine said 808, so I'm not sure the warranty would be effective. The manual never said the model number on it. Kinda fishy in my opinion.

Awesome! Makes sewing a joy.
I already own 3 different models of Janome sewing machines. A sewing and embroidery machine for me. A Hello Kitty that my daughter has used since she was around 10 years old. And a Sew Mini that I purchased to use at our cottage. And even those little inexpensive machines work great for basic sewing and have held up well with many hours of use. The primary reason I purchased this machine was to have an advanced machine that is easy to transport. And it is easily portable. With the hard cover on it is still very light and easy to carry. The 3160 is a "basic" computerized model and is top notch. I have been spoiled by having the features of a computerized machine and this has all those that I want most. There are cheaper computerized machines from other companies but the quality of this is better and built to truly last. Straight out of the box it worked great without a single adjustment needed. So if you are an experienced sewer this is basically a set it up and go to work. The accessories and feet included would cost well over $100 if purchased separately. The extension table is great. Using the LED control panel is extremely easy and pretty intuitive. The stitches built in cover all the basic sewing needs for stretch and non stretch fabrics. There are also stitches for more difficult and advanced techniques. This machine could certainly meet the needs of most sewers for all their sewing needs for many years. There are some decorative stitches included as well. This really is a joy to use and I am looking forward to getting to use it a LOT.

Love it
My last Janome lasted me 15 years (it is still running, I just wanted an upgrade) so I knew I wanted another Janome. I chose this for the middle-of-the-road cost and the multiple 1-step buttonholes. I love it. I love not having to use a foot pedal (this machine comes with one, but you can just use the Start/Stop button), I love the color of the light bulb, I love pushing a button to clip the thread at the end of a seam. When you choose a stitch in the computer, the screen on the sewing machine displays which foot you need to use. This is very handy. I've tried a lot of the decorative stitches and have to admit I like them more than I realized I would. They are so pretty on the edges of napkins or over hems. I was able to sew through six layers of denim on this machine, but it did walk away from me a bit. Might need a rubber grip mat to go under it if you do a lot of heavy work. One con: The arm of the machine that remains after taking off the storage bin is thicker than my old one. Hemming children's pants is considerably more difficult. I'm keeping my old machine for this purpose until my youngest child grows a bit more. This machine is supposed to be able to sew buttons on for you, but I had trouble with this feature. Probably just need to spend more time learning how to use it, but I found it faster to sew buttons on by hand.

Very nice machine
Very nice machine. I bought the Janome 3160QDC when my very old Singer (with metal gears) could no longer be repaired. It was 52 years old. I had bought a new inexpensive Singer but had nothing but problems with the bobbin. I have started quilting and wanted a reliable easy to use machine. I love the automatic needle threader!

I bought one because a friend has one. Love the machine. I am learning all the different stitches that this machine can do. I highly recommend this machine even for a beginner as just have to follow instructions and it’s really easy to understand.

It's a nice lightweight machine to take to classes. Nice stitches with most of the necessary features for most classes. Needle up down, thread cutter, needle threader, speed adjustment, walking foot. it does come with a 1/4" foot with the guide on it. I prefer the one without so I purchased it seperatley
