how does it fit snug in the seat? I am not sure how it is holding up in the place where back is joining with the seat?

If you have this ikea couch with the original ikea cover then you would know that the cover has 4 elastic straps under it. Those straps hold the cover in place. This replacement cover comes with those straps to hold the cover in place or snug.

Does it fit the faux leather version?

The faux leather klippan is not designed to get the slipcover replaced. Therefore, any klippan slipcover won't fit the faux leather klippan.
