CP2102 much better than Prolific.
This is a great bit of kit. I use these to replace the Prolific USB programing cables supplied with most Chinese handheld radios. There are so many fake Prolific cables out there it's not worth the hassle. So these 2102's were substituted and they work fine, every time.

Worked straight out the packet.
Worked straight out the packet, Windows 10 installed drivers as soon as I plugged it in, set up my terminal software and I was good to go. Well worth it !!!

Flashed custom firmware using this - no issues.
Used this to flash tasmota to sonoff. Worked perfectly.

This unit worked perfectly once I found a driver for the Windows 7 64bit computer I used it with. my reason for giving less than optimum rating is that the ebay page relating to the product did not make it clear that a suitable driver would be needed.

Not enough Power!
Connect my laptop to my raspberry pi Serial connection just fine. Does not have the grunt required to connect to an ESP8266 as i do not have the ability to perform the circutry changes that will allow this: http://www.instructables.com/id/Mod-a-USB-to-TTL-Serial-Adapter-CP2102-to-program--1/ I will just continue to use it as is and program my ESP8266 via my raspberry pi instead
