The posts were too big for the notches on a child sized watch and would not fit. Probably fine for an adult sized watch but not smaller. Function and form solid. Like I said cant fault the tool as it was made for adult watches.

There are three common types of watch backs for quartz watches; snap-off, screw-off, and screw-fixed. To replace the battery yourself in a screw-off, theround back has notches or grooves around the perimeter that a tool grips onto to unscrew it. It is often found on waterproof or water-resistant watches.Unlike the other two common types, if you don’t have the right tool, you just can’t do it.This is the right tool and at the right price. I was delighted with the ease of using it to open a watch back that I had been struggling with for several hours. I know I will have occasion to use the tool in the future, but even if I didn’t, it was far easier and much less expensive to order the tool and do it myself, then to drive it to a watch repair person.Even if you only own one screw-off back watch, I highly recommend you purchase this tool.
