It is a great strap, I use it to carry a Nikon D500 and 80-400 lense and it has been a revelation as I used to carry it for up to 4 and 5 hours at a time whilst hiking and that was pretty tiresome. **Q: Is it the v4 or the v3?** A: My Slide strap arrived today (11 Aug), and I can confirm that these are v3 anchor links. They are the ones that Peak Design have recalled. I'm unsure whether to send the whole product back to the seller or get replacement anchors from PD. **Q: Anyone recommend this for use on a Nikon 200-400?** A: Hi Lucas, I own a 70-200 f2.8 lens which weighs 1.345kg which I find is a lot of weight to carry round my neck, and I don't use this strap on this setup at the moment. The weight of your Nikon 200-400 lens is a monster 3.2kg plus your camera being held by the Anchors which each can hold over 200lbs (90kg). Then yes it does appear to be feasible and safe to use. I assume that your camera and lens would not be be left dangling but you would be holding the lens when on the move. The advantage is when you mount it on a tripod, then for convenience you can quickly remove the strap. **Q: I'm concerned with security. It seems that the weak point is the string at the anchor points, (weakest link). Are they string or metal cable?** A: It’s a 2 layer anti abrasion woven thermoplastic. You must make sure it’s the new version of anchors as they’ve made them thicker. We got ours from amazon last year and it was the new stock, and been very pleased with it.
